One other plus about using the drawer liner....sometimes if a bottle drips down the sides, or crumbs fall....when you go to clean the drawer, you just have lift the liner out, wipe it with a damp cloth, and put back in. Makes drawer-cleaning-out much easier! The cabinet that holds your mixing bowls...you could also put the bottles in the front in a small plastic shoebox type container (from the dollar store). Then when you go to grab the bowl in the back you can just pull the container out with one hand while grabbing the bowl with the other....and push the container back in, moving all the bottles at one sweep. Just an idea to take or pass on.... Your organizing videos are very motivating s well as full of great ideas! Thanks for sharing!!

as a mom a little further down the road, I’ve learned that seasons change and so does the things we use. For example, I no longer need baby/child dishes in my kitchen. I can keep some favorite children’s books, but where did all these chspter books come from-they can go to a free little library. I hope that encourages moms as things seem to keep coming in-they do with each chspter and season we are in.

I often tell people that I am really minimal minus the amount of kids I have. I have 10 children and when I was pregnant with my 7th child in 2014 I decluttered (or started decluttering) my house. Van load after van load. All whilst caring for my children and having a shift working husband. I slowly chipped away and it was a process. Then I became a ‘gate keeper’ for what came in and I also underestimated the ‘heart clutter’ I also unknowingly had. I wondered recently if I would be like this if I had less children and I can honestly say I love living with less and living simply but I also realise that I love thrifting so it’s a constant swinging part of life. I don’t think I’ll ever be done because as my babies grow things leave and things need to come in.

Great video! My parents were immigrants from a poor country and they never threw anything away. When my mom passed away, my father moved in with us and he had things that were 40 years old that he didn't use in the shed. I think I grew up with the same mentality. While I don't like clutter, I find it hard to let go of things that I might use at some point and have to rebuy them.

I use the vinyl shelf liners on my two glass refrigerator shelves and the vegetable drawers. It keeps tidying up these areas very easy...you wipe up spills quickly or can pull out liners and soak in dish soap, rinse, wipe dry and re-insert. The gingham pattern is so clean and cheerful too! No smudges, gunk or drips!

I also use colorful small and medium heavy ceramic bowls for holding berries, tomatoes, eggs, etc. in my frig. It is pleasing visually and lets me see what is available as snacks or to use up before it spoils. I love using retro style bowls to make it a pretty view each time you open frig!

I follow Dana, Cas and Dawn so I know all of this but it is very helpful to see it put into action in your kitchen. I really need to go through my kitchen again and pare down. It is so frustrating to have to remove items to get to what I need only to have to rearrange again when I go to put it back!

One thing I did a couple of years ago was to pull out items from my kitchen that I need but only use a couple times of year like at Thanksgiving. I put alot of small utensils like nut crackers, potato masher, extra pie servers, etc in a basket and put it in another area of the house so they are available when I need them. Now when I open my kitchen drawers they are MUCH less messy and I'm only looking at the stuff I use on a daily basis.

And yet, somehow we manage to get by without it? 😌 Yes it’s possible to miss something, so we either adapt and figure out another way or we realize a true need and make space to own it again. But most likely you felt the need to donate it because it was so infrequently, or never, used.

I’m not a hoarder, but I will not get rid of things that mean something or I like, even if I don’t use them all the time. However; my strategy is more focused on how to organize and replace some things (like small appliances or kitchen items) with higher quality in some things. I’ve learned a lot from your channel.

Starting today hearing good advice. I am not a minimalist, but I do like to be efficient in every area. That means purging, or simply ridding oneself of the unnecessary whenever we see it. We don't always view it as that, but realization of something being useless to us, or simply not deserving of storage space spells, "donate." It's a life chore that remains with us all our lives.

I started last night by going through my canned food cupboard. I rearranged everything by date, putting newer things in the back of the cupboard and pulling anything that is close to expiry in a bin in front to use up in meals in the next couple of weeks. Will be tackling the other cupboards one at a time. I find this method doesn't overwhelm me.

Oh hilary this video was just what I needed the first week of January ❤️ You know we do Tiny Tidy Tuesday on my little channel (little but growing). We're up to 23 tiny tidiers now and I just had my first live interview on Denise Jordan 🙌 Anyway your very timely and motivating video today got me thinking that it was basically a series of tiny tidies 🤷‍♀️ I know you don't do a lot of collabs and you've already been such a sweet support on my tiny channel which has been more than enough quite honestly (when you referenced my jewlery box/ kids memorabilia storage episode I literally fangirled like nsync was in town in 1999🤦‍♀️🤣) but if you ever have a tiny tidy to film that you don't know where to squeeze into your normal format...I've got about 23 tiny youtubers who would just die if you were in our playlist some random Tuesday 🤣 btw I know a lot of our tiny tidiers began for chronic health/stamina reasons but we have a lot of mamas of small children that have jumped on board as well now as you know tiny tidies are often the only way they stay afloat during those early years with littles 😘

Everything fits perfectly in your kitchen, but I'm concerned about the spices right over the heat from the stove and oven. Won't that degrade the quality of the spices pretty quickly? I know it's convenient to have them there, but heat and light are detrimental to their storage. Just a thought.

Dumb question: I have an Instapot that I primarily wanted because of the yogurt feature,I just thought making my own yogurt would be everything lol. I have never used it because I am intimidated by the starting process....I should get rid of it right? I think it's been 2 years! It's just sitting brand new in the box in my kitchen ugh. At least I know enough to not accept my mom's continuous offer of a kitchen aide mixer she wants me to have. We have one in the house but it belongs to my 21 year old daughter, she uses it all the time whereas I have never ever used a mixer, I can't be bothered to get it all out and then clean it all up after. Although, there will come a time when I'm going to lack the arm strength it takes to manually stir some things lol. I don't know why it's so hard to just get rid of the instapot I don't use.
