One other plus about using the drawer liner....sometimes if a bottle drips down the sides, or crumbs fall....when you go to clean the drawer, you just have lift the liner out, wipe it with a damp cloth, and put back in. Makes drawer-cleaning-out much easier! The cabinet that holds your mixing bowls...you could also put the bottles in the front in a small plastic shoebox type container (from the dollar store). Then when you go to grab the bowl in the back you can just pull the container out with one hand while grabbing the bowl with the other....and push the container back in, moving all the bottles at one sweep. Just an idea to take or pass on.... Your organizing videos are very motivating s well as full of great ideas! Thanks for sharing!!

as a mom a little further down the road, I’ve learned that seasons change and so does the things we use. For example, I no longer need baby/child dishes in my kitchen. I can keep some favorite children’s books, but where did all these chspter books come from-they can go to a free little library. I hope that encourages moms as things seem to keep coming in-they do with each chspter and season we are in.

I often tell people that I am really minimal minus the amount of kids I have. I have 10 children and when I was pregnant with my 7th child in 2014 I decluttered (or started decluttering) my house. Van load after van load. All whilst caring for my children and having a shift working husband. I slowly chipped away and it was a process. Then I became a ‘gate keeper’ for what came in and I also underestimated the ‘heart clutter’ I also unknowingly had. I wondered recently if I would be like this if I had less children and I can honestly say I love living with less and living simply but I also realise that I love thrifting so it’s a constant swinging part of life. I don’t think I’ll ever be done because as my babies grow things leave and things need to come in.

Great video! My parents were immigrants from a poor country and they never threw anything away. When my mom passed away, my father moved in with us and he had things that were 40 years old that he didn't use in the shed. I think I grew up with the same mentality. While I don't like clutter, I find it hard to let go of things that I might use at some point and have to rebuy them.

I use the vinyl shelf liners on my two glass refrigerator shelves and the vegetable drawers. It keeps tidying up these areas very easy...you wipe up spills quickly or can pull out liners and soak in dish soap, rinse, wipe dry and re-insert. The gingham pattern is so clean and cheerful too! No smudges, gunk or drips!

I also use colorful small and medium heavy ceramic bowls for holding berries, tomatoes, eggs, etc. in my frig. It is pleasing visually and lets me see what is available as snacks or to use up before it spoils. I love using retro style bowls to make it a pretty view each time you open frig!

One thing I did a couple of years ago was to pull out items from my kitchen that I need but only use a couple times of year like at Thanksgiving. I put alot of small utensils like nut crackers, potato masher, extra pie servers, etc in a basket and put it in another area of the house so they are available when I need them. Now when I open my kitchen drawers they are MUCH less messy and I'm only looking at the stuff I use on a daily basis.

Starting today hearing good advice. I am not a minimalist, but I do like to be efficient in every area. That means purging, or simply ridding oneself of the unnecessary whenever we see it. We don't always view it as that, but realization of something being useless to us, or simply not deserving of storage space spells, "donate." It's a life chore that remains with us all our lives.

I have never used it because I am intimidated by the starting process....I should get rid of it right? I think it's been 2 years! It's just sitting brand new in the box in my kitchen ugh. At least I know enough to not accept my mom's continuous offer of a kitchen aide mixer she wants me to have. We have one in the house but it belongs to my 21 year old daughter, she uses it all the time whereas I have never ever used a mixer, I can't be bothered to get it all out and then clean it all up after.
