@@christophersonlevi i get that, but since drums can be very difficult to put on, especially tenors, adding fast marching to that will only make it impossible, so what he did was ok, because he was also removing a potential obstacle, another acceptable thing to do would as soon as movements happened again, the player would take the instrument to the sideline to get it on and find the right time to reinsert themselves into the drill. But since dropping your drums in front of a large audience, I can imagine he was a bit stressed and wasn’t thinking about that option and took the other one

I (obviously) don't know their drill but I definitely think he did the right thing, especially since Ive been marching long enough to sense some sort of move in his direction. it just bothered my guard brain lol
