Yes. Awesome, I agree with every word you said. Even some clients expect me to magically know about everything without them sharing anything. Aren't I supposed to be clairvoyant? I've had clients who want me to tell them "your next lover will come from the West direction on the third day of July riding a pink horse". For God sake.....these beginners are just like difficult clients sometimes. 😛🥰🤗🤯🤭

Thank you for the video, I agree on the FB page people are asking for help but I have no idea what the spread is, what the question is, so I just skip it. I like the page because it allows me to see spreads, etc. and read comments on what it means, it helps me to learn.

My personal opinion: when a person joins a group, they're "joining a class" that the administrators are the "teachers". If that person is not happy with how the group is being manage. They can always "withdraw from the class".

Can students bring up points and ask questions? Or they have to leave the group?

Very good point about the Celtic Cross.

I love the analogy of the Fool and the Magician when learning tarot.

About the celtic cross, I think the problem is that most if not all tarot decks that are sold, that include a booklet, have a small 3 card spread, but Most of them jump straight at the celtic cross as the standard spread for everything :S so it's the first we learn.

yes thats true - and when i suggest that they go back to a 5 card spread the beginners online get indignant that i would suggest such a thing -

So....I taught myself to read... by learning the basics as you described, but with no real teacher, just my intuition and consciously learning from the youtube readers that I trusted watching. Paying attention to how they described the cards and the energies behind them. The only thing I disagree with though is where you say you HAVE to have context to read the cards. I've found that there are universal messages that come through that apply to what the universe/astrology is playing out on the grandest scale. They show me messages constantly about what type of person is having what type of thing happen to them, and why. No need for context at all when you can expand to see from the universe/Gods perspective. Having a question/context only helps magnify how that applies in a person's current situation. Its like a funnel. Looking at one person's life in the cards is like peering through the tiny end of the funnel....but....I like asking the cards whats happening for....everyone. thats reading from the wide end of the funnel. 😊 you can learn a lottttt that way
@LovesIntuitionTarot3 жыл бұрын
For example....at 3:23 in your video....the universal message in that is that whats intuitively being heard within people about soulmate partnerships has them feeling guarded. Bc they're begging to work together. Dumbing down the card meanings, yet still having a full encompassing idea of what each part of the story means and feels like...thats how the large scale picture can be seen.

i agree with you - but im a reader who works in a shop - people pay me by the minute and its way more practical if the client has a question or area of life to work with - it just gets to the point - but yes if was at home alone or with friends with some candles and soft music i could spend hours doing general readings for myself and them or just letting the cards tell me and them different things.

This is great advice. I haven't been reading tarot for long but the first month was v intensive and I do enjoy using the celtic cross spread - I find that there's a point when the whole thing comes together and it's exciting. However, I don't read reversals. I don't think you can force it; I'm starting now to see how it can work but I won't be rushing it. I do think that the learning/studying part of tarot is too much for some people and they just want to take shortcuts.

I so appreciate your videos. I am new. Only 3 cards for me & no reversals. I struggle with formation of the question. Wish there was a Question deck (maybe a new deck for you to create for folks that don't know what question to ask). I have your learner deck & I love it. I have several decks with meanings on them but I prefer your deck as it has no reverse meanings and the image of the card is large enough to see the details. The deck that sparked my interest with tarot was the Wild Unknown. I thank the Wild Unknown for getting me started. However, I learned very quickly that I wasn't going to learn tarot from it, so I sold it & bought a Rider Waite Smith deck.

Hi Paris, very helpful for me. I have the original Ryder-Waite and a basic book. Been learning on and off for about 4 or 5 years...when I have time, but really feeling called to start studying seriously. I'll think I'll take your advice and go back to a 5 card read until I feel more competent again.

Also, does too much context cloud a read? I’ve done readings for friends where I’ve tended to color the read with my knowledge of the situation

Im a beginner, but can’t get around the reversals. They come up like that for a reason. A ‘left only’ sign in reverse is much different. How can a reading be accurate by ignoring reversals?
@parisdebono2 жыл бұрын
i recommend beginners dont read reverse - there is no need for it - just read up right - a child does not need to learn the alphabet backwards

You can only be creative once you have the base....if you don’t have a base the entire reading is pointless

You forgot the 'asking vague questions/not even asking a question or having a topic in mind when drawing cards'. My least fave thing.

You said that for beginners we should always read upright but what if the card wants to tell us the reversed meaning but we put it upright?will the message be off this way?
@parisdebono Жыл бұрын
if one card comes ups side down then learn what it means up side down - but over all reading up right is fine = there are 78 cards in the tarot - it will answer you if you are meant to get the answer
