Being from NC listening to CA talk about cold weather finesse fishing is entertaining. We've already had water temps in upper 30s for a short time. To CA its time to go extreme cold weather mode at 62 lol

I am a Clearwater resident and absolutely appreciate this channel as well as all you do. I was hoping you could make a winter inshore video that discusses when and why you would choose deep water over shallow water be it target species, water conditions, weather conditions, etc. Keep being awesome Captain.

Appreciate the kind words and support. Yes, I prefer deep water when those really chilly fronts arrive… but it’s the deeper 8’ plus water that’s very close to shallow zones where they can warm up in the afternoon sun that is key!

Great and timely video. You covered everything that I'm struggling with currently. Going to try longer and lighter leaders next. Thanks for the ideas.

I’m in jax FL if I’m targeting trout is it more productive to fish creeks near deeper water or should I fish rocks and docks around the shipping channels? Another problem I have is deciding if I should fish higher salinity which is where our less stained water is with darker bottom or should I fish the areas with darker stained water with mudd and oyster or shell bottom?

Joe the lack of rain in Jacksonville during January & February will move the trout way up river. That being said I like the docks and rocks pattern in Jacksonville because it’s reliable in the winter months. Good luck and thanks for the support of our channel!

The trick, for me, is to remember to keep it slow after a hookup. I’ve always had trouble catching something then going into high gear!

You mentioned that micro braid, what would you recommend for a 1000 size reel for speckled trout?

I will try this next week. All of it makes sense. Thanks for the advice. Artificial’s is something I’d like to try getting better at. Your videos are full of information. I would have liked to see demonstrations though. Tight lines 🤘

Cindy… stay true to that artificial game and it will help your natural bait trips in the process. Thanks again for watching another video! 🙏🏼
