I believe most braided lines tend to break around 10% or more of their rated strength. I think I remember seeing a test and most brands 10lbs broke between 12-15lbs of actual pull

Hi Captain CA! I just started viewing your Tidewater videos. Really great content!!! I’d say this is my favorite. Some feedback for you….After each video (3 so far) I walk away knowing the guest from your perspective. I’m not sure if that’s the intent. Seems like you have to carry the conversation quite a bit. Maybe the guest would open up more sitting in a boat or outside in their happy place. But regardless it’s all very interesting conversation. Hope this helps! Keep them coming.

Another great presentation. I had 60 lb braid. Will switch to 30 for longer casting. Thank you sir

Great content as always Capt CA! Do you change the hook to a bigger size like you mentioned with the 6 inch mulletron or keep the stick hook for the 4.5 inch size? Thanks!

I can say for beach fishing: Pompano/redfish/drum/whiting don't care about the color of your line. I have 20lb (due to flinging 3+ oz weights on 12 and 15' poles) bright orange line. Pelicans, jetskis, swimmers, and boaters can see it. Go high vis (neon yellow/pink/orange) and you'll get less morons in your line.

Upside-down rigging is blasphemy 😅 jk If you say that rod is too light for pass fishing What size would you use in a pass but still be able To cast artificial. Probably won't be targeting tarpon but big Reds & Snook . Thanks for your input
@Howell-jq7sp23 сағат бұрын
What do you recommend using in off color water for Tarpon?
@flatsclasscharters11 сағат бұрын
Stained water lets you employ a wider variety of soft baits and even hard baits. The Mag Swimz and Heroz from Zman are good choices

Really good info all the way around. I like to throw a seven incher with a 3/16 jig head to keep it high. But your advice is gonna help people catch more poons for sure....
@flatsclasscharters23 сағат бұрын
Yes 1/4 head weight then adding a larger plastic will give you enough weight to cast but float high where the poons like to feed

Great video Capt.! Would a Senko or stick style bait work.? They’re plenty heavy to cast weightless. Just wondering if it would work on the Cape Fear up here in NC. Thank you sir!

Great video C.A. and also a DOH! Moment for me 😂 I bought a selection of the Flats Buggs a few weeks ago, after watching your videos. I've been seeing a lot of Reds lately, and I've caught a few, but totally forgot about the Buggs Jigs. I need to keep a rod rigged with one. 🤔 What's your favorite color for water with a little color, I'm fishing up around Honeymoon. What size weight are you using. Love that stool im heading to Tailwaters to check it out this weekend. I think it would be a great addition to Flipper. I'll tell em you sent me

hi CA. watched u talk bout Buggs a few times now and wat they can offer to sight casting on the flats. month ago i got a few to try on the fish i target wen sighting casting flats in Australia. have to tell u mate the tusky n golden trevally really hammer the Buggs. my sight zone is from 200mm(8 inches)to max 3m(10 foot). up until then it was the zman goat which still gets a swim.

Well, if the Albright slips on coated lines, enrease the raps to minimum 12. It won't slip again. I personally put 15 raps on and don't go under 12 on coated of fused lines.

@@flatsclasscharters Thanks. I'm a big fan of simplicity, so I mostly throw a 4 inch diesel minnow on 1/4 oz trout eyes, but a bigger, heavier offering would be nice to get down to the big snook we have here in Stuart. Open water and bridges hold some real snookasauruses!
