If I know i want to post a pic on instagram I find it MUCH easier to get a nice pic setting the aspect ratio to 1:1 than cropping later. It's much easier to use the grid tool and get the composition in a way that looks nice immediately. If I take a photo in 4:3, I tend to take it so it looks nice in 4:3, not necessarily in 1:1, so when cropping it afterwards it usually makes the photo look a bit awkward.

Hi, I'm always using light room & snap seed for edit photos, but my suggestion is Light room better than others. It has been more comfortable to edit contrast, shadows & clarity
