I just wanted to let you know that you are my favourite KZbinr Kayla. You are the most down to earth mommy vlogger here on KZbin. You don't copy other people, use clickbait, flaunt anything, live in a massive house, want to "build your dream home", or get pregnant for KZbin views. I love how you try your best to help other moms and always keep it real. I feel like your personality on KZbin is what you really are in real life. Keep doing what you are doing ☺️

My baby is formula fed ( unfortunately) and my 4.5 months old daughter sleeps from 8-4 and then 4.10-7.30. Your video just made me realize how lucky we are in the way 😅The same issue with day time nap , but my baby is quiet happy on her mat with music 🙂4.5 months baby is definetly easier at night than newborn!

We practised crib hour for my baby boy (also five months old) and I can’t recommend it enough! It took about 2 weeks for him to connect his naps and I only left him in the crib for 15 mins max after waking (I read somewhere that this was the recommended time for this age group). He was previously only napping for 20-40 mins at a time but now naps 2 hours consistently for his first and second naps (the third is a catnap). So I say give it a shot! Tbh, I thought my little guy was hopeless but it worked so well for me that I usually have to wake him up from his naps lol. Best of luck Mama, you’re doing great!

In the UK, if the mark is red and not brown/tan, we call it a port wine mark. My mum's friend's son had a very dark one over most of his face as a child. He had a few laser treatments but it's still very pink even now. It's not harmful or irritating, it's just a mark, it makes him unique!

My little girl is a little older than Jackson. She had two hour awake windows and was doing three naps each about 35-40 min. She recently kind of stretched her awake times herself and now does 2 naps at about an hour and a half sometimes 2 hours. So maybe it will happen soon!

I dod babyled weaning with my now 2yo son. They have good fb groups for this that educate and provide support. I felt ot was great but the basics behind blw is no food puree/cereal outside of formula or breastmilk until atleast 6 mo and all other signs of readiness have been met. I know you do give jackson puree and cereal so i just thought I'd throw that out there.

I know I suggested once before a Carter's sleep sack they sell microfleece or fleece ones, they're really nice and not quite as puffy as the Merlin suit. You can usually also find secondhand ones on poshmark so you could get one cheap and see if it even works for him. They sell them with long sleeves and sleeveless, I prefer the long sleeved ones. Just a though. Good luck.

Calpol teething gel is amazing the best one I’ve tried my sister has 7 kids and she says it’s the only teething gel that has worked for her and she actually gets is sent over to her from the uk to Ireland it’s that good definitely worth trying but it is only for 5-6 months or older but the good thing is because of the immunisations you can give them Calpol with the Calpol teething gel so you don’t have to worry about that if you’re getting their immunisations when they’re teething but obviously every kid is different but if you find the others ain’t working or if like my son your child is lactose intolerant definitely give the Calpol teething gel a try as I find it works for my son and he’s very lactose intolerant

I think if babies wake up after a 30 minute nap, maybe that’s all they need? My little boy (4 1/2 months) mainly naps for 20-30 minutes (occasionally 50 minutes)... why try to force them to sleep longer if they don’t want to, as it’ll only stress you out more 😕 Also the rash you mentioned that Jackson had, did the doctors mention Kawasaki disease? (It’s linked with covid 19 in children)... 4 months is ever so young to start weaning, even if a doctor said it was ok... the world health organisation recommends breast milk/formula until age of 6 months, as their little tummy’s are still developing. I’m a nurse, and haven’t always seen doctors diving the best advice (it’s nothing against you, but towards doctors pushing that sort of thing when it’s not needed)... Also to help with your anxiety, have in your head when feeding Jackson solids ‘food is fun before one’, just incase you get yourself cut up about him ‘not eating alot’, as it’s all about exploration of flavours and textures before 12 months of age, I hope that helps for the near future x

You probably already know, but be careful with the "top ups" before bed, or he might associate eating with sleeping! I did this too, and my little guy would only fall asleep if you fed him, so i'd be waking up to feed him every time he woke up at night, even if i knew he was full. So glad Jackson is doing better, I know that must be a big relief for you!

He can do more on his belly. That's why he likes it better. He's not grumpy. He's teething and he's talking. He needs the chance to go back to sleep if he is not crying consistently at the end of a sleep. At this stage you can give him a toy to play with or chew on in the Snoo to keep him quietly occupied until he dozes off again or is ready to get up. He will let you know when he is no longer finding his own company amusing. I cannot tell you how many babies totally lose it with laughter at their older siblings in a way they never do with other people. Somehow, at least at the baby stage, they truly appreciate the toddler goofiness. By the way, this suggestion is based on experience for your consideration. Get rid of the blanket under the playmat. It may have helped him some when he hated tummy time because he was having intestinal problems in his first few months and uncomfortable tummy time needed to be done several times a day. However, now it will impede his independent movement. He will not be able to get proper purchase on the flooring or carpeting to crawl or otherwise locomote with the blanket there sliding around like a Slip'n'Slide. It will only hinder him and he could get hurt, losing his hand, foot or knee grip on the actual surface he needs to be moving across. That surface can be carpeting, tile, wood flooring, etc. But, he does not need the earth moving beneath him. His good movement will be based upon his muscle development and his sure grip on the floor under him. He has to be able to trust the solidity of it. He is strong and doing so beautifully.

Jackson shouldn’t need to nurse so much in the night now. I think he does most of it for comfort. Start trying to knock a feed off so it isn’t a huge shock to him when you switch him to the crib and do Ferber. My little dude is just about 6 months now and hasn’t had a night feed throughout 5 months. We did Ferber and now he sleeps 10-12 hours straight at night!

This is actually a psychological response on the babies part. I can’t remember what it’s called, but I recall learning about it in psychology & nursing school in a manner that tore my heart to pieces. Basically, the lesson used the example of babies in orphanages. It stated that the reason why although orphanages May be full of children (infants used in this example). It is quiet. But babies aren’t quiet. But these babies are. And it’s because they have learned That nobody will come for them if they cry, so have stopped crying. That literally tore my heart into pieces and honestly made me sick to even recall 😪

Omg :( I'd never let my baby 'cry it out'. I know it might work for some moms, but I just can't.

Babyledweanteam on Instagram has some great resources and a very helpful dietitian that shares ALOT of good knowledge on baby led weaning. :) Honestly the choking scares me so much I'm pregnant with my first and plan on doing it but that's my biggest fear for sure!

I've noticed you always call Jackson "Gordo". Is there a special meaning to that?
