I really love how you pointed out that no matter how your body looks, there is always going to be a voice saying that you aren’t good looking enough and to just love yourself no matter what. I needed that 🥺

Love seeing you two prioritize dates. Jenn I've been married for almost 27 years to my best friend, and we still schedule date night every week. Our kids are grown now but it's such a strong habit we've built, we actually feel off track if we don't do it:) Another thing we did were in house dates when the kiddos were young, once they went to bed. Remember, one day your baby boy will leave the nest and you don't want to look at each other and not recognize the other because you didn't nurture your marriage. We actually just had a in house camping date (it was too cold outside) with tent and all in the living room. We had blast.

This is so true! Our kids are still young, so most of our dates are in home movie nights. Just being together and sitting together are the best moments. We have been married for 12 years and dates and togetherness is VERY IMPORTANT for a relationship along with communication and just plan fun! Haha

Also a heads up on Why We Sleep - it's considered a bit misinformative, as the writer used a lot of questionable data and poor citations when making his points! The Maintenance Phase podcast did a great episode telling the story if you're looking for more information! x

Came here to say something similar - while there are MANY theories on why/how we sleep, there is not consensus on specifics. I'd caution taking in any information as definitive! :) That said, existing sleep theories and data to support them are fascinating. I think taking in said information while acknowledging nuance/uncertainty can be amazingly helpful nonetheless to contextualize sleep habits and patterns that work well for us

Thank you for being vulnerable and sharing your postpartum body and talking about self image. I remember when I was at my most fit, skinny self, I still would look at photos and feel like it wasn't "enough." That's when I realized that it's not about "those 5 lbs." It's really a mental game and I think motherhood really changes things and puts things in perspective.

You guys are so cute! Lol Ben when you were in your wardrobe, prob wondered who you were talking to. I love your points on being content on your body in its current state. We def put a lot of pressue in getting on ourselves in wanting an ideal body, esp for women after pregnancy with pressure to 'bounce back', but forgetting like what you said "health is wealth." If you aren't healthy, the look of your body will not make it better. Don't be too hard on yourself. Treat yourself with kindness and positive vibes and spend more time with your loved ones.
