Thanks for the inclusion of Voice of Baceprot! Their first album. Retas, is scheduled for release 13 July, first US tour 03-19 August. They are the epitome of inspiration, as they have had a very tough journey, overcoming many difficult obstacles (some life-threatening) to reach the world stage. In their own words, rock/metal music helped them through despair and depression and literally saved their lives!

On July 16th, I had the opportunity to see VoB's performance at the Jakarta Fair event. they really beyond my expectations, when they started the intro I was like in another world. Their live performance I would say surpasses the recording.

That is so great to hear! Live music is absolutely the best--IF the sound mix is right and the musicians can actually deliver the goods. Sounds like VOB has it all! Thanks for letting us know! 🤘

Thanks for this. VOB is a favorite of mine right a long with The Warning. I heard PLUSH recently when they opened for The Warning. They are monsters on stage and sweet hearts when they meet their fans. I am seeing VOB in August at their New York show. Flying up from Florida and I am so excited to see them in a small venue. Keep up the good work. Another all female band you may want to look at is The Sixsters. Five young women from Ukraine, first started around 2014. They were up rooted by the war and have settled in Germany and are playing small venues and festivals. They tend to lean more Alt/Punk Rock. but they are surely talented.

Sixters, I will look into them. Thanks! Man, I'll tell you, I envy you getting to go see VOB. They just aren't coming close enough to me for a drive, and plane tickets are a little out of my grasp right now. Enjoy the show! 🤘

The three best female harsh vocalists currently are Alissa White-Gluz of Arch Enemy, Tatiana Shmayluk of Jinjer (who I am seeing in less than a week) and the force of nature that is Fernanda Lira of Crypta. Slaves To Sirens deserved a place on this second list instead of Dogma, who I had never heard of before. I don't consider Plush to be Metal but they are a helluva band. As for the Japanese bands, the list is long but should include Lovebites, Nemophila, Hanabie, Aldious, Bridear, Fate Gear and the pioneer group Show-Ya led by the Queen of Japanese Metal, the great Keiko Terada. Groups that aren't Metal but are damn talented are Band-Maid, Gacharic Spin and Trident. Edit: If you don't know of it, you should check out the KZbin channel called Gym Rock Crew with the very fit and lovely Ramona.
@MetalProfessor65 Жыл бұрын
I'll check out that channel as well as the bands you've mentioned that I've not heard. (I've heard *of* most of them, but not all!) Thanks! BTW, neither this nor the other "5 All-Girl Metal Bands" vid is meant to be a ranking, so there's no deserving or not-deserving involved. I'm just getting into the all-female Metal scene, and I'm cranking out these vids simply in the order in which I hear the bands. You're the second person in two days to recommend Slaves to Sirens, so they'll be right up on the list of bands I check out. Enjoy the Jinjer show, and thanks much for watching and commenting! 🤘

@@MetalProfessor65 This will show my age but I was in high school the exact same years that The Runaways were a band and I developed a bit of a crush on Lita Ford. Since that time, I have taken an interest in all-female bands and especially in rock/metal/blues female guitarists (Lzzy Hale is at the top of my current list). There have always been all-female bands that have popped up over the years and really impressed me but never more than a hand full at any one time. That changed when I discovered Band-Maid in January, 2020 and opened the floodgate to all the other amazing Japanese all-female bands. When you combine the rock and metal bands, the number of talented all-female Japanese bands is rather staggering. In my opinion, the best female guitarist in the world right now is a 20 year old named Haruka Noma (stage name Hal-Ca) in a band called Asterism. Just by luck, I was able to see Asterism at a small club while on vacation in NYC last week. I don't think I have seen a better guitarist live (and I have seen plenty) since I saw Van Halen in 1979. She is genuinely that good.

@@danw6048 Aaaaaand you've now given me another band to check out. Thank you! (Also it sounds as though we are nearly contemporaries. I started high school the year after The Runaways broke up. 👍)
@danw6048 Жыл бұрын
@@MetalProfessor65 I graduated high school the year that The Runaways broke up. A couple of years later I was happy to discover Girlschool, not to mention The Go-Gos. Asterism is definitely a band you should experience. I discovered them through a fan video of an instrumental called Dawn. Until recently they were strictly an instrumental band but now they are adding vocals, mainly through the vocals of Haruka. I was worried that she wouldn't have the power to compete with their rock/metal sound. However, I saw them do a cover of Crazy Train last week and I was pleasantly surprised how well Haruka did with the vocals (of course they played the hell out of the song). Here is a link to the video for Dawn. In the video, Haruka is only 16 and the brothers (not her brothers) are probably 17 and 19. Their performance is worthy of a reaction - kzbin.info/www/bejne/mKa0gal_g6-Wd5I

Thanks for introducing more excellent female metal bands. Dogma are very wicked(but highly addictive) and now have 5 MVs on KZbin, all are definitely not for the prudish. A CD was supposed to be released in Nov 2023 but I can’t locate it yet. I still can’t find out where they are from, Latin America possibly?
