Bro there is a reason why ur teacher never told u this because in year 11 we will do 2 papers and one paper will be paper 1 WITHOUT CALCULATOR and it will be the hardest paper and if u know how to do it without a calculator then its good honestly if u dont know how to do this then u will fail but if u know this and u use these methods to check ur answer it would be great!

I have come back to studying maths later in life as part of an Open university degree course. Your videos are the best instructional aids I have found. Some very cool tricks and tips. Thank you.

I love how as an engineering student I do all of these calculations on a daily basis (maybe except the reciprocal button and statistics calculation)

hi, great video, just wondering what would I write to show my working for the question at 3:23
@TheCalculatorGuide Жыл бұрын
If you needed working out you would have to do it the full method using either Pythagoras theorem or Sin, Cos or Tan.

On your first example the question had two marks. Isnt the first mark a working out mark how would we show that on the paper if we’ve done it in the calculator?
@TheCalculatorGuide3 жыл бұрын
Only if you get the answer incorrect. If you show the correct answer on the page, it will be assumed that you used a correct method to obtain it. That being said, it is always worth writing your calculations out properly and showing the examiner/teacher how you obtained the answer. These are skills to back up you methods or check/affirm your answer

I did Pol(15,5.86) for the second to check if I get the 23 degrees, but got 21 instead, why?
@TheCalculatorGuide4 жыл бұрын
The "x" length is not 15. That is the hypotenuse length which isn't used in Pol. Try Pol(13.81,5.86) and you should get 23 degrees (with a slight rounding error)

when I scroll right I am getting 0=.40489....... for angle x. I am using the fx991ex Calculator, my other calculator gives the correct answer on my phone. Does anyone know what I am doing wrong?
@TheCalculatorGuide5 жыл бұрын
xenoxel Sounds like your angle unit might be in radians and not degrees. Go to the setup menu and change the angle unit to degrees and try again.
@zeusrulez5 жыл бұрын
big mood it would be shift, setup (button next to on), 2, degree (which I believe should be 2 but I don’t have a fx991ex with me)

Your calculator my be set to Radians instead of Degrees Press "Shift" and "Menu" to select "Deg" (Degrees) on your caculator
