I'm just unable to pour anything nice.... I have a few things i'll integrate from this video but might come back to your channel. Latte Art is not something I want to actively practice, but everytime im pouring a shot of espresso and doing a milk drink, why not try, at some point i'll get it right. I think I was doing a little of all the mistakes in this video, which results in a very poor pour.

Thank you so much Emilee, you just took my latte art skills to a new level! As a home barista, I can impress friends and family with my latte art. When watching videos of a professional doing latte art, I always noticed that their milk looks a bit runnier. I never knew why until you told me I wasn't swirling the milk enough. I was whirling, but you were right, I just wasn't doing that vigorously enough. Now my milk and latte art is one level up near perfection!
@TheDrwannabe12 жыл бұрын
Pegged it. Again. I've been wondering for a while now, "How much integration is the right amount? Maybe I'm doing too much. I wish I knew..." Only making a latte every other day or so makes it hard to test (I need to invite a bunch of friends over for lattes and then I can run some controlled experiments). Thanks for doing the "lab work" for us! Another superb tutorial.

This was so helpful - thanks! I watched the video before bed, woke up this morning, and applied it to my first cappuccino, and it was a step change improvement. The two tips I focused on were swirling and integrating. I started my pour much sooner than usual (less milk to start) and was immediately rewarded with clear ripple lines and a nice, full distribution that continued to the edge of the cup as it wrapped around. I actually kinda panicked because I wasn't expecting it to go that well and didn't really have a plan for where to go with it.

Probably the best explained video I've seen so far and one thing most videos fails with is to not explain what NOT to do, instead of just saying what we should be doing because I'd guess that most of us that fails are not even conscious that they do something everytime that they should never do but no one told them first so they will ever succeed.

I really love the flow of your pours, there is a special raw beauty in them! - I really need to work on lowering down my integration, I think it's holding me down even after years of pouring;) - regarding the swirling: I too have realized the more you swirl the better. But in my own attemps I found that once I finished steaming I like to swirl, transfer all of the milk/foam to another pitcher, swirl again and then transfer them back to my pouring pitcher and swirl again. In my perception, I get the least least amount of seperation this way and can maintain a very consistent density of microfoam throughout the whole pour. For me it's especially important, since my machine is a crappy modded Gaggia Evo, the first machine I started my coffee journey with and the stream pressure is not stable, so I basically have to a similar thing to oldschool temperature surfing to get to steam with a consistent pressure and also the steam being not too wet....;) Hope you can rate my free pours one day!
