The Earthmover was probably the most disturbing Batman villain. His tragic fate turned him into a being whose only mentality was "I have no mouth and I want to scream." With someone with such a hopelessly ruined and miserable life, it would have been a blessing if Batman broke his no-kill rule with him.

"Earth Mover" was the very first episode of Batman Beyond I've ever seen, and when I first saw the Earth golem, I thought it was Clayface, and by the end I was left mortified when i saw what it actually was.

A fairly underrated part of "Batman Beyond" is the dynamic that Terry and Bruce shared during missions, with the new hero doing the brute work and the retired and disabled one guiding him from the base with his detective skills. It was basically the same professional relationship that Oracle and Black Canary have...but without the s*xual tension 😉

There was one episode where Terry “kills” Mad Stan. It’s really just an illusion, but even Bruce Wayne is convinced at first that Terry killed him. Interestingly Bruce isn’t even that pissed, more annoyed, and it seemed to be just cause Terry killed a guy who was already down. Maybe Bruce still dislikes killing, but has finally realized that Batman will inevitably cross that line and it doesn’t make him any less a hero.

Yea I probably don’t get it, I haven’t read the comics and it sounds like you’re more knowledgeable me in this area😅 I just find it odd that Terry has directly/indirectly caused deaths (Mr. Fixx, The terrific Trio, The Earth Mover etc) and Bruce never addresses this. We never see him lecture Terry on how he needs more restraint or how to find a better way. Any insight on that? Cause I’d love to hear your thoughts.

The Terrific Trio reminded me of an incident that occurred in the Superman comics. They did a story that was an homage to The Fantastic Four. Like with The Terrific Trio, it didn't go very well. Two of the members died horrible painful deaths, and one member (Hank Henshaw) appeared to die. Only Terri Henshaw survived after being cured. Later, it was revealed that Hank Henshaw's mind survived by transferring it into a computer main frame. When he revealed himself to his wife she committed suicide. Henshaw blamed Superman for the death of his wife and his friends and sought revenge. As part of his revenge he destroyed Coast City. He impersonated Superman as if he had been rebuilt as a cyborg, and he became The Cyborg Superman. Later, his motivation changed to wanting to die. The accident that changed him made him unable to die. So far, nothing has been able to kill him. The closest so far has been when he was at ground zero of a massive explosion created by a planet-sized bomb. It appeared to have killed him, but then he once again revived.

I'm not sure if comparing splicing to tattoos and piercings is a fair comparison. The latter are purely surface level alterations. But with splicing, you're completely changing your body inside and out which includes your brain chemistry. And considering how much trouble most people have controlling their impulses already, adding animal instinct to the mix is probably a bad idea.

The splicer one would be mortifying seeing a 3 story tall amalgamation of animal dna would definitely trigger the fight or flight response big time would not be a pleasant sight with his well weird portions.
