I learned to fly in a G-47. Wound up an instructor & crop duster in one. Great old bird.

I know of several bell 47s that were rebuilt and the only part salvaged was the data plate

I got to watch a Bell 206 rigged for ag spraying doing a field near my home. The pilot was pulling up hard at the end of the field, doing a pedal turn with the nose nearly vertical and skids nearly touching powerlines, with precision, again and again. Balls of steel!

First thing to master to fly a helicopter? Hop on one foot, left hand pat your head and right hand rub your tummy! Sounds crazy, however left hand collective pitch up down motion. Right hand cyclic, circular motion. Feet anti-torque or "rudder" pedals. Once you get the hang of it, it is a blast!

G'day, Um, that there final shot of a Bell-47 taking off towards the Camera..., it looked a lot like a Bell-47 J..., the "Presidential Model" with a 3-Person Bench-Seat on the Rear Cockpit-Wall, the Pilot sitting out in front in the Bubble ; and a Sheet-Aluminium monocoque Fuselage & Tailcone...(?). The first Helicopter I ever flew in, and worked with, was a Bell 47-J (VH-HHH....), way back in 1978. I've since flown in Jetrangers & the derivitave Longranger ; but most of my Rotary-Wing Airtime was in an Enstrom F-28c (VH-IYR), in '79 & '80. Have a good one, ;-p Ciao !
