When I counterstrafe instead of releasing D, tapping A,then shooting. I keep D pressed add and hold A, shoot, then release 1 key or the other to move once again I’d like to think this is more efficient seeing as I don’t have to lift off the keys and repress as much. P.s this isn’t an actual counter strafe and doesn’t really work on CS.

One thing I’ll never understand about Valorant is why they decided to reward people who don’t probably know how to move their character. I counter strafe as a habit from CS but the fact a good amount of high elo players and players in general just let go of their key and they stop almost instantly is a dumb mechanic.

its not that they reward them its just that the game has different mechanics therefore counterstrafing is almost useless, different games have different mechanics, sucks for cs players but you wouldnt expect for it to work on like apex for example, different gameplay

Realistically 99% of better players are still counterstrafing cs style. Those who are not will eventually be punished for it as the climb into higher elo because you’re giving your opponent extra time to shoot back at you because you’re full stopping and then pressing the opposite key to strafe back behind cover (obviously in a scenario where you’re jiggling and firing a bullet as you deadzone) versus the player who is counterstrafing.

@@tvt2428 Yeah I get that. It’s just a shame that the mechanics of the game lower the overall skill gap. Which isn’t a bad thing I know Riot’s motto is taking established games and making them more casual friendly. I know you Siège you don’t got to counter strafe either but I do from habit. People like to compare csgo and Valorant but in terms of shooting styles and whatnot but Source and Valorant are pretty similar in terms of their mechanics if you ever played source.

@@md27100 Idk Ive seen pros say that they don’t even counter strafe at times because you don’t need to. If your movement stops instantly when you let go of a key there is no need like it says. For me it just feels foreign but the timing for counter strafing is a little different compared to CS.

@@NocturnumNA Yeahh ofcourse we can see a humongous difference between bad and good players.. but that's about it .. they look at the ground... they look at the head level ... they do not counter strafe.... they do counter strafe... As a full time OW2 player ... That is not what I expect when I hear "Movement"... Boosting, bunny hopping to get high ground or to get on top of a box is what I call movement... and riot keeps fixing those things calling a BUG....
