Great video! Love the metaphor of the bassist carrying the whole band on his shoulders 😉 Also that photo of Paul is 🔥🔥🔥. You really captured that “best drummer on Long Island” vibe.

Thanks buddy! You know better than most how much band carrying I do LOL

You have a very cool approach and create Uber-cool content! I'm a retired orchestral/jazz bass player entering into a new later-life career as a headshot/portrait photographer and everything you say about this genre of photography resonates with me 100%. Also, we bass players DO carry the weight of the music!

Thanks, Thomas. I appreciate your kind words. For color grading, check out my mentor Ivan Weiss: www.youtube.com/@IvanWeiss-london He has some wonderful tutorials on color grading and other topics. I learned the process from him.

Hi Pete. Can I ask you hot you shot the drummer? Was it a constant light to use on the hands, then you ´ve adjusted the key light on the upper body part? Hope my English is clear🤞🤞🤞
@PeteCocoPhoto2 жыл бұрын
Hi Thomas, I used constant light for that photo and layered the hands from 2 different images in order to give it the motion blur effect. Hope that helps!
@ThomasRuhlandPhotography2 жыл бұрын
@@PeteCocoPhoto Excellent! I will try to get this effect in camera , but I guess the layers technique seems lot easier. Thanks for your advice 👍👍👍
@PeteCocoPhoto2 жыл бұрын
@@ThomasRuhlandPhotography My pleasure! It can definitely be done in camera, but with continuous light it will be more challenging since the subject must remain perfectly still. I am glad you enjoyed the video!
It would be nice to get such tipps about businesspeople.

awesome! quick question, do you have some tips o doing self portraits as a musician? (I am a guitar player)
@PeteCocoPhoto2 жыл бұрын
If your camera has an intervalometer that helps a lot. You can program it to fire of a number of shots while you pose. Self portraits are tough for sure but the same rules apply. Try a bunch of angles, crops, etc. Good luck!
@madalitsonjobvucristoclear2 жыл бұрын
@@PeteCocoPhoto Thank you. I will give it a try. Have you done sel portraits of yourself with your instrument and applied the tips you gave here?
@PeteCocoPhoto2 жыл бұрын
@@madalitsonjobvucristoclear I've done a bunch of self portraits with and without my instrument. I'm a double bassist so it's definitely challenging to do a self portrait with it.
