It was very nostalgic! Many of the places we filmed in Thailand we had been to before on our first visit but since we went vlogging then we wanted to go back and do it again then put it online to share so that's what we did 😆

Thanks Tim! I think the only time it has been really difficult to do was China because sometimes places were only in Chinese or not listed on Google (since Google is blocked there) but we somehow managed to figure it out just in case anyone ever wants to try the same stuff 😁 it was pretty tough as every place was really good and that crab place oh my goodness super delicious!! But Soei is special.. very unique dishes and flavours leave your taste buds incredibly satisfied 🤤 plus maybe it's nostalgia and also having our good friends there with us too but it was always gonna be tough to top ☺️👍 hope you're having a great week Timothy! It was so good Jen 😋 We love Thai food and getting to eat it in Thailand itself is heaven 🤤 Nah we haven't let the virus stop us from traveling.. we're cautious and all that but there's no knowing when it'll get fully under control.. we understand the risks plus we're keeping up our immunes and practising good hygiene of course which is normal anyway but def not putting our travels on hold because of it. You definitely see the impact on tourism and tourist attractions though as so many of them are wayyy less busy than they normally would be! It's quite nice not having crowds actually 😅 hope you're well and having a great weekend 👋

Thai food is an ABSOLUTE MUST try and definately a dream destination I've been longing to visit MOSTLY because of the food(I looooove Asian food HANDS DOWN, ALL DAY!! EVERYDAY!!!) and MOSTLY because of Mark Wiens(one of my fav foodie vloggers of all time 👌👌👌) Actually, speaking of Mark, we have been watching his Food vlogs for the past hour or so now lmao I know lol I havent slept yet. Have you noticed that Thai food back home tastes nothing like the authentic Thai food in Thailand? Even when that Thai food back home in NZ is cooked by a Thai chef at a Thai restaurant? It may have something to do with sourcing local fresh ingredients grown under different soil/climate conditions but a lot has to do with Thai chefs adapting dishes to what they assume to be "pākehā" tastes -typically less spicy and altogether with toned-down flavours. When ordering I always tell the Thai chef to cook dishes as they would do back home - the difference is amazing!

7:50 btw that vege is actually the top leaves from a tree. Thai call it "Kratin" กระถิน. Leucaena leucocephala from the Leguminosae family and is related to the Wattle/Acacia tree. It can be eaten raw with a Thai chilli sauce "น้ำพริก" or briefly blanched to soften them a bit.

Yea it's gotta be the ingredients and maybe adjusting flavours here ay, doesn't taste quite the same but am glad there's still some good thai food here in NZ too. Thai food in Thailand though 🤤🤤 Soo good 😍👍 have you got a fave that restaurant in NZ? I live in Bangkok so my favourite restaurants are all here! But my kiwi friend owns soulthai.co.nz in AKL which is actually takeaway/delivery not a sit-in restaurant. He recently closed his Thai sit-in restaurant at Balmoral cause people are generally tightening their belts and the times seem to suit the takeaway business model more.
