Hey Mark, I'm currently in bangkok and for breakfast I went to the first restaurant you went to in this video and it was delicious oh my goodness I was sad when the meat was done but was fully satisfied and filled to the brim. I showed them your video and then when I finished eating, I took a picture with the lady that prepares the dishes. It was an awesome experience eating beef hot pot for breakfast. Thanks for the suggestion on the restaurant. They were all joyful and full of smiles 😁. Top notch food and service.

I have watched many Mark Wiens Bangkok food videos. The difference between his videos and other food bloggers' videos is his infectious cheerfulness introducing and eating the food. Plus his friendly interaction with the hawkers/food vendors in their native Thai. It makes the videos lighthearted and enjoyable to watch.

In my opinion the fact that Greg is filming and editing this is amazing, it changes the style of your video, changing the format from a food and travel diary to a tv food program. It would be amazing if you still keep this style of filming (greg holding the camera) And you holding the camera (vlog style) Nb: you can really see that Greg knows how to work the camera, how to frame the shot, how to capture the moment

I love Thai Street food. Nothing beats Thai food!! I once took a trip at the last minute for 3 days from the US just to eat eat eat. and I didn't gain a pound. The most simple dish of Noodle Soup is still outstanding. It was well worth the jet lag and plane ticket. For me, Phet mak mak just hides the flavor so, Phet nit noi works for me.

I ate Thai food for the 1st time & there was a soup that was SUPER HOT( I LOVE hot stuff) it was so good but 2 hrs later I was in the b. room & it literally felt like I was having contractions every 5 mins. I was profusely sweating and in tears for an 1hr. But it was WORTH it! Lol That soup was delicious!!

nah honesty it's msg and high temp of fire. (coal and wok would make it better) lol freshness is bullshit. as asian I warn you not to trust streetfood so call 'freshness' so much. most of them dont wash any ingredients. I even saw them chop vegs using pathway as cutboard with my own eyes.

@@ankicat3425 There're many non-spicy food in Thailand, just don't follow the guidebook. My favourite choice would be (sorry if the spell isn't quite right), pad-see-ew (dry noodle with pork and kale), moo-kra-team (pork fried with garlic and pepper, usually served with rice or you can ask them), mas-sa-man (kinda muslim curry, must try), or just simple fried rice like kao-pad-moo (fried rice with pork, you can change to chicken or what ever they had, just ask them). Almost all of our food has strong taste because they meant to eat with rice, except the one with noodle. If you find it too spicy, you can tame it down with rice. would be happy if you can try and review all of those ;)

@@ankicat3425 I also can handle only mild spicy food. (1 chilli per 1 papaya salad dish) Not only @Impascetic FinalP suggestion, but also in the link below (Mark Wiens 100 Thai dishes) migrationology.com/100-best-thai-dishes-to-eat-in-bangkok-ultimate-eating-guide/ I recommend Isaan-style Restaurant (Northeastern food) - 44 43 64 Most of them are spicy. so you have to add this word "ped nit noi" It means low spicy , but don't let your guard down. Single dish menu - No 25, 41, 86, 87, 96, 72 Light meal - No 63, 31 Restaurant-base menu - No. 11, 12, 51, 52, 57, 12, 50 To eat with spicy food you can add No.27 (or any fry menu / oily menu) as additional dish - this is my magic against spicy food. It helps a lot when you want to clear spicy-burn taste off your tongue. just take this oily menu as your next bite with rice, so you can take another bite of delicious torture. Hope you enjoy.

I love your videos, Mark! Thank you so much for the entertainment, and education! As an American 'look krung" myself, you really made me miss the tastes of Thailand, but I felt like I was there with you! I TOTALLY GET THAT LOOK on your face that Greg referred to. Thai food isn't just food- it's an experience! I also loved when he expressed how beautiful he thought the sparks coming from the fire were-- it's those moments that resonate with me too-- how the process of Thai cooking is so stunning and can make us feel so humble and alive. Great work. Looking forward to taking my family to Thailand one day and hitting up all the places on your list.
