The bucket technique is a good advice, personally my bank offers to automate transfers from checking account to savings accoutns, so I schedule a transfer with a specific ammount every 2 weeks and over time it had worked very well. Filling the bucket happens automatically.

Before you get to the point of the finances ..be sure to max out your contributions to your 401k plan if your company offers one. After that what you have left, definitely follow Maria’s great points and ideas 👍👍
