Great tips! 16:34 if you want to see a window of which sill height is above the cut plane , select the window>edit family>go to floor plan level>select all symbolic lines>under properties , edit the visibility/ graphics overrides >uncheck " show only if instance is cut" >load into project. Done! the window should be visible in floor plan.

13:30 If you don't want to turn off hardware acceleration and slow down your model, the other option is to just turn on ambient shadows as well (if those don't annoy you too much).
