Please advise in my case. opened up the ppf account as per my CA advise. That time i was not NRI. I Work in Merchant Navy. Some years i was NRI & some years Resident. I left sailing in 2017 & i extended 5 years more After 2017 I am a resident and kept on depositing money in ppf account. PPF is not linked yet with IT so we advise not to continue and withdraw amount after maturity to avoid problem in future. Your case is complex so I am not sure

@@pqpqpqpqpqpqpqpqpq In PPF interest is not given by bank..it is given by central govt. And they track you through your PAN number. Every PAN is eligible for interest on principal amount of upto 1.5 lakhs. You can deposit amount more than 1.5 lakhs but you will get interest on only 1.5 irrespective of the number of accounts you open in any number of Banks/Post office.

My ppf acct was not renewed for more than one yr after maturity. Now new contribution is not allowed & acct not renewed. Is it as per rules.

Yes - its as per rule. PPF need to be extended within 1 year after maturity

Common people's are interested in gauranted return of nine to ten percent. Stock market and mutual funds keep saying returns of fifteen to twenty percent but despite of capable management fail to garauntee anything hideing behind market risk. Is it investment or poker, gambling.

The tds rule regarding the withdrawal is not clear. If some one invests for a longer period of time and is submitting ITR regularly then also tds would be deducted?

Yes - if withdraw amount is above limit mentioned in video - This TDS can be claimed back after filing ITR

Sir I opened my account in 1990 and it matured in 2005. Then I extended it and last extension was done in 2020. Now I have to close my account, whether can I close my account now. Plz guide.

This is regarding premature closure of PPF A/C, going to mature on 31-03-2024 Extended 4 years back. How much penalty, I have to bear on preclosure of the PPF A/C If PENALTY WILL BE APPLICABLE ON THE INTREST AMOUNT ON AMOUNT INVESTED IN EXTENDED PERIOD OR FULL AMOUNT SINCE THE OPENING OF THE A/C ? PLEASE CLARIFY

I am resident of Dubai hold Indian passport. Do I need to close my PPF account which I open 4 year before moving out. I would like to keep it operating for 15 years. Please suggest

As per rule - if you stay more than 6 month you have possibility to close account.
