@@TomQuigleyArt hi are there any alternatives for the ink in the bubble technique as I tried acrylic paint but unfortunately, the bubbles were plain and didn't have colour so the transfer to paper wasn't in colour and didn't work.

@@devanarajeev4428 they were drawing inks, you could also use brusho inks. Hope this helps 👍🏻

Hi Tom, quite an unexplored technique and process i.e. applying white acrylic then cutting away the layer of paper to manipulate colour absorption of the wet medium to create tonal variety. I was quite blown away by its simplicity yet profound effect. I have usually resorted to layers of alcohol inks and combining textural elements by drawing with Posca pens or black fine liner as the final step. But your method is certainly more cost effect when working with my own students. Thank you! Well worth the subscription 👌🏾

Hi Tom. Love your channel. You explain things very well. Sorry, But I can't figure out exactly what that mountboard is. Is it made especially for carving/cutting out designs that are then peeled off?

Thank you for the video. 🙂 The bubbles in the opening images made me think of the time I added a few drops of shimmering ink to an almost empty bottle of foam soap. The results both before they were allowed to pop naturally and after they had popped into the Yupo paper were beautiful.

Great tutorial - can you explain the Mount board that you used - I tried it, did an intricate design, but the inks soaked into the top layer and under layer. I live in the states, so it might not have the same name here
@TomQuigleyArt3 жыл бұрын
Thanks for commenting and watching. Did you seal the mount board first? You can do this with primer used for priming canvas, hopefully this should solve the problem.

Hey Tom. Great techniques, thank you. Good video too. Wondering what type printer you use for printing copies of your screen shots, laser or inkjet? And which type of copy is best for most collage applications. I've been going to the copy shop and I using those laser copies of images for directly adhering and for gel transfers. I'm about to purchase a printer to save trips to the copy shop and uncertain if I should get laser or inkjet.

You can print your titles on tissue paper. If you adhere it with a matte medium, the tissue becomes nearly transparent.

Hi Tom, I've been binging your videos! I wondered what ink you used. The description says brusho. If you mixed the crystals, what was the ratio of water to brusho? Cheers :)
@TomQuigleyArt3 жыл бұрын
The great thing about brusho is you can dilute it with as much or little water, depending on the intensity you are after 👍🏻
