I'm sorry, maybe I missed it but when you say caramel on the first recipe, are you using that ice cream liquid caramel or are you unwrapping little caramel candies and melting them, or something different?

It is liquid Carmel. You could use Carmel candies and melt them as well. Either one will work :)
