I can’t stand it when someone tries to use the fact of having a really bad past to try and excuse the actions of someone who clearly has no remorse for their actions. I’ve had a god awful past but I’m not out here murdering and destroying others lives
@christinastroup56304 жыл бұрын
I grew up in a horrible house but not once did i ever think, feel or act on murdering or sexually assaulting another human being. To me its just another excuse for a poor excuse of a human being or better yet an evil piece of bleep. Just disgusting!!! Totally agree with your statement.
@christinastroup56304 жыл бұрын
@Colorful Animations thank you for that but i was just trying to point out that even if someone grows up in a horrible home and is abused her whole childhood can still grow up and be a good human being. Not saying i was good to myself but i would never want anyone to feel the pain and abuse i went through. But thank you for your comment. It means a lot to me. I just want to help those who have also been through what I have and show them that they are strong, beautiful and not their fault!!!

Completely agree! I also hate it when they blame the drugs they were in at the time. I think you should get MORE time if you commit a crime while under the influence.
@danafisher86133 жыл бұрын
Funny it’s always easy to say and I find it interesting that when it’s certain types of criminals can act the same way and the excuse of past abuse, or childhood traumas etc it results in shorter sentences. Crimes the same. I also feel that just say Life without Parole there’s no point in doing 173 years or 4 life sentences. What is the point?? Life without Parole is more than enough. At the end of the day it will never bring the victim back. Let them rot in jail, putting them to death is an easy way out. But when you are not even an adult we need to take a look at it, and make more of an effort to stop failing these kids at the first sign of issues. They needed help then, to let years go by more damage to be done then expect them to somehow live “normal” is crazy. Now Larry Nasser needs to rot for what he did, he knew, he wasn’t an abuse victim, he was a grown man that took the innocence and trust from too many young athletes who trusted him. He used his profession to gain their trust, their parents trust, and abused those girls with no remorse because he could. That is a monster that is an animal and I’m glad he will never see the light of day again. However, all those victims will have to spend the rest of their lives dealing with what happened to them. They too have a life sentence so is there ever any real justice in our justice system?

Well they're attorneys. If they're saying that, the judge knows damn well they got nothing. But legally they have to defend them somehow, even if it's stupid like "uh, your honor, he had a rough upbringing"

@DanskiV23 жыл бұрын
@Colorful Animations I agree with what you are saying, but from what I understand the reason that many people who are abused as a child end up doing the same to others when they are older is due to the fact it feels familiar to them, or it as an attempt to heal in that they become the "powerful" one in a relationship. Or simply just due to anger. Of course, none of this excuses the horrific acts abusers carry out but I think - psychologically - it's a bit more complex than how you put it

Times change and they legally can’t let you die so if options are cheap in the future we can lock them up for 100 years. If you assume they will die and say 50 years they may be released in their lifetime
@michaelinhouston90865 жыл бұрын
At one time in Texas, and this may still be the case, inmates earned at least 1 day off for every day of good behavior - so a guy with a 40 year sentence that behaved himself in prison could be out in 20 years, and in some cases, even less. And sometimes the sentences run concurrently, so a guy might get 5 20 year sentences but only serve 10 total years if the sentences run concurrently. Also, if some of the sentences or convictions are overturned on appeal, the guy still has all the other time to serve.
@RigsbyTre2105 жыл бұрын
Yeah I’d much rather get life than 100+ any day. Paroling off 100 and gotta do 85 percent 🤔 nah I’ll take a change with the life and try 25

@@michaelinhouston9086 Texas has the death penalty. If you get life for murder which is usually what gets you life you die. That plus guns is why Texas is a good example to follow for justice. Definitely would be useful in Detroit.

Any other time, the court would tell a minor that they are not an adult and don't have the right to be treated like one. But if they commit a crime, suddenly they are a fully thinking and reasoning adult and should be punished like one.

"No way a TEENAGER should be sent to jail for life" Me: "No way should a teenager KILL someone" Rot in jail
@iknowimanidiotbut..28045 жыл бұрын
NERO KNIGHT you do realize their minds aren’t fully developed and the parenting or lack of is more than 50% of why they do these things. It’s not completely their fault and in the case they have mental issues it’s almost 100% not their fault. Not completely but almost. The ice man serial killer for example. No matter what he wanted, he would have turned out to be a killer. He didn’t have a choice from the time he was born. It’s like telling someone with adhd not to be hyper. Like they have a choice?
@neroknight12345 жыл бұрын
@@iknowimanidiotbut..2804 being a serial killer isnt in your DNA. So no way is someone born to kill. I agree that your experience growing up affects you and also you can have the gentetics to be mentally ill (nature vs nurture) but thats far from being born to kill. I dont know if you ever come across "nature vs nurture" in a psychology course but scholars believes people are born with a blank slate and as you experience the world as you grow, it influences who you become alongside some aspects you were born with from genetics. Adhd isnt a killer gene thats 2 things far apart you cant compare them. Being a serial killer requires a person to have a lot of issues mentally and grown up experiences combined. serial killers are VERY SMART. They always do premeditated murder. Most people in this video are comsider normal people who killed other people b.c of rage or something else. Saying their minds isnt fully develop is a weak arguement because billions of people today (you and me) have experience growing up from and "undeveloped mind" and the majority havent killed anyone during that state. So an undevelop mind isnt an excuse to kill thats why minors still get jail time but less harsh becasue their minds may not be develop to have good JUDGEMENT AND REASON. I dont know where you get 50% or 100% but its not something measurable. It is their fault for not controlling themselves. If normal people werent controlling themselves this world would be in chaos, since in your opinion it wouldnt be their fault. And if something isnt your fault then you didn't do it and who gets punished for killing? Thats illogical. One killer i can SORT OF sympathize with is a 16 year old who liked playing with fire and end up burning down his house and killing his brother in the process. I also liked playing with fire as a child and it was addictive so it may have been an accident on his end. I was surprised he got close to a 100 yrs in prison because i couldve totally see myself in his shoes if i had made that accident. The kid face showed how scared he was when he heard his sentencing and it looked like a mistake on his end. The problem with him is, he never called for help to save his brother. Which i dont understand.

I hate how people use an abusive past as an excuse for their actions. I know several people who have had horrific upbringings and they grew up to be decent, respectable people. These people know right from wrong. They just choose to do wrong because it's easier than making an honest living and doing the right thing, and then they try to find excuses for their behaviour.
