I'm new here in Los Angeles California, and I don't know how to get around. I got through tough time in my life and before that I didn't know how I was going to to make it. But thank God I made it. During the meeting I tried to get my ideas across but no one was paying attention. Please don't bother me get off my back. When I was working I used to get off at work at 11pm. I don't have enough money to get by at the moment, because I'm homeless and I don't have a job yet. How are we going to get by on those circumstances? Thank you again teacher Wes God bless 😇❣️🙏😇🙏🙏❤️💕💕 ❤️

Hi, I’m Jacqueline, I’m joining from Guatemala 🇬🇹. I normally get off work at 5:00 Pm. I taught my daughters to get across the street safely. Now, I know how to get by on my journey for learning more English and being confident speaking more naturally. 1. The bridge is destroyed. How are we going to get across to the other side? 2. She’s working late and won’t get off until 11 pm. 3. We were finally able to get through and speak to our family. 4. Right now, I’m getting off the bus. 5. I just barely got by with a passing grade. 6. He’s having a tough time getting trough the divorce. 7. You’re stepping on my toes. Get off! 8. She broke her leg, so it’s difficult for her to get around. 9. If you’d let me get my point across, then I’ll tell you why you’re wrong. 10. It’s hard to get through to him, because he’s so stubborn. Great lesson!!!! 💯. I definitely learned and enjoyed this lesson!!!

I just started to watch your video from beginning about month ago. I really like your classes. I am from USA but I was born in Poland and came here 18 years ago when I was 27. When I came here I didn’t understand anything so I have to take ESL and I finished it. I still think that I have to always improve my english because I have good job and I don’t want to be embarrassed. I love you guys because you are the best teachers 👍. I am so happy that I found you here so my english will be better. I am watching your videos from beginning but I also watch your live video. Have a nice day! Marzena

Get by: Our person who teaches us German culture, and speaks fluent English (even without much accent) either used the phrase 'get by' wrong or there's another meaning for it I didn't know exists. In the sentence he used it, it seemed to mean 'doing well' and was a synonym for having a dream job. He's teaching us how to find 'a dream job in Germany,' which means the same to him as saying "so you'll get by (referring to having a high salary.) When I say I'm getting by from month to month, it's never meant I have a dream salary (das Gehalt, in German.) Has 'getting by' financially mean you have a high-paying job all this time and I just didn't know it?
