Chimchim Jamjam 한극이 means Korea 한극말 means Korean language. (im so proud of myself for knowing this! Im learning too)
@nochu97537 жыл бұрын
Pickle Cat 🤔 for what I know both means Korean (language) but I thought there's should be some kind of difference, maybe something like "you use A in this kind of situations or B in this other kind of situations"
@picklecat48197 жыл бұрын
Chimchim Jamjam no, I think you are referring to formal and informal language. The info I have given is correct.
@nochu97537 жыл бұрын
Pickle Cat I thought they were unchangeable I was wrong I just searched up about it, you right 한국어 is more formal and not used very much in every day speech, and while I was reading I realized about 말 that is used to refer to the words one says as the language as well ^^ tysm now I have it clear

To those learning Korean, especially new learners, not being afraid to make a mistake is HUGE! Korean Unnie is right, the Koreans I have met are so warm and open to helping me speak better Korean. Even though I have been studying for years and I know I have improved and Korean friends have complimented me on how better my Korean has gotten through the years, I'm still not confident because I'm not at the same level as Native Korean speakers so I beat myself up about it which is the WRONG thing to do! Be confident, TALK, it's the only way we learn =)
@nejtaksandahl6 жыл бұрын
Niki Pezzano Thank you for writing this comment! I’m eleven, and I’ve been studying on Korean for about two months. I’m always worried about not speaking fast enough, or pronouncing the words right, but thanks to you, I just got reminded that if I do my best and keep trying, some day I’ll be able to speak fluently.
@pattmahiney6 жыл бұрын
Niki Pezzano This was the hardest part for me. I would get shaky and nervous, where I've been a great public speaker for my whole life, but can suddenly not talk to a single perspn standing before me. It would take me a whole minute just to ask a question because I would get nervous, forget Korean, and keep starting my semtence over. It was still scary on the phone, but finding good language partners online has helped me shake that fear quite a bit. They must have been really annoyed at first to hear me say keep stopping after I thought I missed a particle, jumping from 제가 to 저는 to 나는 like a jackrabbit, and stop right before the verb and start over like 5 times. Lol they gave me tons of advice and forced me to repeat what they said again and again, and explaoned as much as they could. The first two times were awkward, but about 5 minutes into my first call to my new friend 민지, we were playing a game of Simon (the sequence game) between English and Korean 😂 and I loved it! I got so nervous that I forgot Minji was also learning English! When I remembered that, it made the whole thing a lot of fun. Now I have a friend and a language partner (:

Thank you for touching on not worrying about speaking broken Korean. I went to SKT yesterday and signed up for a new phone contract, and I spoke in Korean the whole time. The employee and I understood each other for the most part, and it is quite an empowering feeling knowing that my Korean is finally reaching a level where I can do that. I know I still have a long way to go in terms of fluency, but these little successful scenarios really help in motivating me to further improve myself.

Your intro was such a relief. I'm trying to learn Korean and I want to go to Korea. But I know there are formal and informal ways of saying things.
