Modules are the stand-alone units of softwares that are combined to make a larger Software suite called Property Management System.
Modules are the division of resposibilities and authorities within the major departments of a hotel like Front Office, House Keeping, Food Production, Food & Beverage Service, Accounting, Night Audit, Stores, Engineering & Maintenance, Banquets, Back Office Administration, Marketing & sales, Purchase & Stores etc.
Modules permit data transfer but limit access with the use of log-in and passwords for individual employees. PMS records every activity of each employee and it helps to pin-point the errors, frauds etc.
