I’ve been using some of these tips that you mentioned in other videos (hands back and the toe specifically) and it really did provide some instant improvement. More work to do but I do have a bit more confidence now to grab a wedge and not putter or bump and run

I love Matt's explanation of the toe chip. It's the same logic that I use for downhill putts with a lot of success.

I picked up golf near on four years ago and watched the fantastic Mr. SG's videos early on. Now it's all come together and it is soo satisfying. Now I'd sooner chip than putt off the 1st cut, not that my putting is lacking or anything. Thanks Mr SG ! Love what you do !

It is interesting I just had a short game lesson with my local PGA pro and what feels like I’m taking the club back way outside is really straight down the line. Same for you on this last few chips. Thank for the intel.

What you feel like you're doing in your golf swing and what you're actually doing are very often two different things.... it's the whole "feel vs real" concept.

Very good video Matt, look so easy the way you are showing us. This wedge look like a new Edel one? How do you like them? Edel love us to use lots of bounce. Are you going to make a video showing the fitting you had? Got fit for an Edel putter and loved it, was wondering if I should move to their wedges also?? Would like to hear what you think about them and their wedge fitting process. Thx.

Great advice 👍 immediately improved. I’ve always hooded chip shots, unsurprisingly my weakest area of game. Would love to go to golf week. Really like your instruction style content and energy. Sadly Military pensions don’t go far enough for these adventures. Game is improving through the cost effective IPad lessons. Time for my next MSG private lesson. Thanks

Agree if front of that green was tilted towards u and u needed a tiny bit of carry.. But that location you were at /shot. I will take hands a head of ball hook chip.. Pop down on back of ball first and let it roll...... Each there own... More than one way to play this game is why its so great..

I have a lot of friends who are GREAT golfers. I'm too intimidated to go golf with them. But i also do have enough experience to feel comfortable going to a course alone. any advice on how to get some practice in??
@Stakex Жыл бұрын
So, it sounds like you're just beginning to play golf, yes? If that's the case. the best thing you can do is take a few lessons with a decent pro to get a handle of the basics and spend some time at the driving range until you feel comfortable enough to go to the course. I generally tell people to hold off on heading to the course until you're making good enough contact to advance the ball down the fairway most of the time.... if you're still topping/duffing the ball almost every swing, your money would be better spent on lessons and range balls. Also, the best time to go to the course as a beginner is, generally speaking (every course will be a bit different), later in the afternoon during the week. There will usually be less play later in the day and you'll be able to take your time and work on your game... and if someone does catch up to you, just step aside and let them play through. So long as you're not holding up play, no one will care that you're just beginning.
