I’m going to start bringing my equipment to cons and shooting for free. I’ve been a comic nerd and hobbyist photographer my whole life. I figure I’ll just combine the two. The cosplayers put so much time and money into their cosplays, it’ll be nice to help them capture their creativity.

Like I mentioned, most people do it for fun, and that's perfectly great

I heard about one cosplay photographer that just gave out business cards and was photographing cosplayers for free. What he did was build up his wedding photography business because he got to meet people.

Most people don't make money from cosplay photography. But the problem with that is cosplayers are not usually the target audience for wedding photography and also cosplayers attend an event out of state, so you're not really get local customers.

@@MartinWongPhoto The thing is its a numbers game. If you photograph all day and give anyone a card and they contact you for their photos and then you tell them you do weddings. So if you photography 50 or 100 people you only need to get 1 or 2 people to make some good money.

I love all your videos!! For you, is it worth to buy a 50mm F1.2 instead of a 50mm F1.4 for cosplay (and portraits in general)? The difference is about $700

I use my camera every week so I think it's worth it, but it really depends on where you are posting the photos and using them for what reason
