@@rhondaqualls2954. I think a lot of that (Nolensville v Brentwood) depends on budget, style of home, location of work etc. each has advantages over the other depending on those answers… but each also a great choice!

I’m from Nashville born and raised and a lot of these channels are going to sugarcoat what it’s like living in Nashville. I will tell you never let your guard down because it can be very dangerous. Nashville can be segregated as well. I think it’s funny when transplants and tourists think they know more about Nashville than us actually natives and they all sound stupid. We need more and better infrastructure in the city due to all of the growth.

Absolutely!! Moved to Spring hill for family/ school reasons. Building commercial/ residentual everywhere not streets! You can't have growth without providing roads I have a new appreciation for taxes when im able to move back west + weather sucks here

@@groovyreetv as a black man born and raised in Nashville, don’t my advice is don’t let anyone put you in a box. I had a real estate agent that was just trying to put me in horrible low income neighborhoods and I fired him on the spot after taking me to the second house in lavergne. Nashville can be segregated you just have to make the money and nowhere to go me personally I prefer the burbs like Mount Juliet or Brentwood is where I lived before moving out of state but in the city Bellmead anywhere around West End and now what they call eight S. which used to be (south 8) Area is nice in my opinion. Stay out of Bordeaux, and away from Lafayette and Antioch edge hill. I loved five points in East Nashville by the way. Nashville can be tricky because a lot of it is being gentrified.

Your area sounds pretty darn good to me. Im in Minnesota/Wisconsin. Winter is below zero a good chunk of the season. 12"-16" of snow in ONE dumping is totally normal...multiple times. Summer is 80s and 90s and we get close to 100 pretty often. Humidity can be atrocious. We have state taxes And sales tax of around 8%. My property tax is right about $4000 a year. Might have to consider moving your direction. Im very tired of winter

Winters much milder here in middle TN. House prices gone way up could easily spend 4000 on taxes in some areas. No state tax but roads are terrible narrow/ pot holes cities will not keep up with growth

That's exactly why I had left far northern Illinois. Horrible winters. I'm so so tired of it. Hate the snow. I just LOVE Tennessee ❤️. I live in a small community so no more traffic and no more brutal long winters 🥳. Nashville is too left liberal for me. Happy I'm 2.5 hrs away in my sweet conservative city and only 9 miles from Kentucky to enjoy the tax breaks they have

I am pretty sure Nashville as a whole is a great place to live. That downtown on friday and saturday night most notably the Kid rock and the Luke 32 area is where the "party" happens. Its definitely something to see and experience. Lots of pretty ladies but sadly it isn't the scene for everybody. These pretty ladies are looking to be with their girlfriends and get hit on by cowboys. For people that are curious about Nashville for the party remember it is the most honky tonk place in USA. If you aren't into country music or into that honky tonk feel which can feel really niche or clicky; You can skip this one and move onto the next party city. If you are into it, this place might just be heaven for you.

I wonder how the hand full of states justify charging tax on food. Something required to survive just doesn't sound reasonable. Alabama is worse at full sales tax rate. If a tax holiday has to be given than probably something is off. Thanks for the video.

Let me suggest Smyrna TN. It's about 30 min from downtown Nashville. Good mixture of people. You have most of what you need here if not it's not to far in a bordering town. Still has plenty of countryside left with neighborhoods of all budgets. If you are middle to somewhat higher class budget I would suggest Smyrna/Nolensville area or Smyrna/Murfreesboro/Wilson County area if you want acres. Great people and great schools and great first responders. Trust me you will thank me later but keep it quiet don't need to many people moving in😂

I actually would rather live in a state that didn’t tell criminals that no guns are allowed in this venue, because criminals want to go where they can most likely cause harm but won’t harmed themselves. Since most people are law abiding, thus will not carry in a place that says they can’t carry, those venues are the least safe ( IMO) This is strictly my opinion. This is not a realtor speaking. This is not giving me any kind of advice beyond my own preferences. I have lived in Tennessee my entire life, and was a single woman up until very recently for the last 20 years. Now I will never tell you that every area is safe and can certainly lead you to where you can find the up to date crime stats. I hope this helps?

Don't do Nashville do an adjacent county. And it's a good thing the good guys can carry. Your neighbor will protect you against the bad people with guns who get them easily in America whether the law allows it or not. Only thing hard to avoid here is the unhealthy food USDA approves that Europe doesn't stand for.

Middle Tennessee is great for wealthy people. With no state income tax and a high sales tax rate poor people pay a much higher percentage of their income towards tax than the wealthy do to fund the state.

There is no blanker"this is best for every single person" place on earth thank goodness or then everyone would live there and it would then get all kinds of real problems!!! Tenn may not be the best location for you-- and that's ok! What state is best for you and your needs?

If you make 50k annual 25k will goto rent annually or average 2200 per month also high paying jobs are very hard to find in the state for the last 25 years I have made Miami my vacation spot flying takes less than 2 hours and I can around better the beach is less crowded and no bad actors like you find in n Florida on the beach as for home prices Nashville is above the national average

Yes, I agree. Nash is 3% above the median national average, but the cost-of-living and no income tax and no tax on retirement income. Make a big difference as well in peoples bottom line. If it’s not for you, I understand! It’s great that Nashville isn’t for everyone because then we’d really have a problem, right?

Once in a modeling showcase they tried to coach me to do the triangle sign while speaking but I wouldn’t. I don’t do the ok sign anymore since I found out it has an occult meaning. As a child, I would cover my forehead but never just one eye. That’s just me. It’s difficult to honor the one true God in all we do these days, but I’m trying. I moved to Nashville in 2012 after having spent 11 years hear I am looking to move away for the following reasons. When I moved here you could get anywhere in a reasonable about of time 30 min, that is no longer the case. Rush hour is from 6:00am-9:00am and 4:00pm - to 7:00pm. (Not joking) Nashville is the "it city" and that sounds great until you realize every weekend a massive event is going on downtown every weekend all year around, which equals more traffic on the weekends. You seriously cannot navigate here our roadways haven't accomidated the explosive growth and tourism over the last decade. If you live here and have a 9-5 you will likely spend 2hrs a day in traffic or more depending on how many wrecks happen or road closures their are that day. I live 15 min from where I work it's 50 minuets each way with traffic. Another reason I'm looking to move, cost of living. I make 90k a year (that is well above average salary here unless your in a specialized field) , I have no debt other than a small mortgage I bought my home in 2014 (I got it cheap back then). Middle TN has become so expensive you literally bleed 100$ bills everytime you go out to eat or have a drink with friends, it is the equivalent of Manhatten NY prices, no fun. As for the cost of real estate, if you do not have $800,000 to spend your not going to end up in a nice area of town or you are going to end up a half an hour or further outside of the city which leads me to my next point. Brentwood, franklin, murfreesboro, Bellevue, Lebanon, goodlettsville and other surrounding areas have all of the same problems Nashville has. Over the last decade those who wanted to buy homes but could not afford Nashville (in the nice family areas, not the sketchy parts) moved to the surrounding cities. Causing realestate shortages and traffic out the butt, moving a town over is not worth it at this point. I moved to Nashville because when I came here it felt like a nice city in the south I could grow into as an adult and set up a life and family here. 11 years later I cannot wait to get out of here this is not the city I moved to and It is a shame.

My house is up about 330% since I bought it which sounds great, but if sell and buy in Nashville I'm not making anything. Everything around is up that much or more so my home has acted more as an inflation hedge rather that giving me more buying power in our market. Im looking at Louisville KY, that city is what Nashville was in 2012.

And yes, your money will go further in Louisville as far as purchasing power in Louisville, but there is a lot of difference in the 2 cities and lifestyle plus taxation and monetary differences in retirement. Actually I have a sister who lives in Lexington Kentucky and I just finished saying that Lexington is a lot like Nashville was in the 70s you might consider there as well.

Traffic? Omg I'm from Boston, you ain't seen traffic til you've been in a Boston rush hour, it's like a horror movie. Many people just dump their cars and get mopeds or walk. Honestly you will get to your destination faster on foot than in a car during rush hour. It is literally like sitting in a parking lot with your car running for 3 hours. I doubt Nashville traffic is anywhere near that

One day on the Cross Bronx Expressway in rush hour will imprint on you that you cannot do it anymore. Rush hour in NY is 6 am - 10 am and 2 pm till 8 pm. That's right ten hours a day is rush hour. There is an express lane but you need 2 people in the car or you get fined during those hours listed above as rush hours. My commute is 15 miles takes one hour if there are no delays and that is about 40 miles outside of NYC.

There are way more cons of NOT living in middle Tennessee 1. Taxes……9.75% 2. Rent and home prices are ridiculous 3. IF you have kids you gotta drive between 2 or 4 hours for anything 3 she is right about being land locked 4. The only thing Memphis has is the Memphis Zoo, Nashville has a zoo, but not very good, Chattanooga has the Aquarium and a Zoo, which are pretty cool 5. Weather here frigging sucks Colder than ya mother in law in the winter, hotter than hell in the summer……Texas is the only state that beats us weather wise 6. IF you don’t have allergies, you’ll get them when you come 7 Over abundance of Mexicans 8. Tennessee passes laws every year, BUT don’t enforce none of them 9. As I am. Realtor, I have no lease expertise beyond my on investment properties and I have very happy tenants. 3. Kids- what do you mean by “gotta drive 2-4 hrs to do anything”? I’ve raised my children her and they are now raising their own here now. My family as been here since the 1700’s, matter of fact, my family was the first family to settle in Williamson County Oh, don’t get me wrong, I do HATE Tennessee, and I hate the things that go on here The politicians are corrupt here Let me give you a history lesson: Granny White Pike…….Granny White was a madam and she ran a brothel that all the Tennessee politicians would go to…….the road….Granny White Pike, was the road they traveled At the Capital, there are tunnels the politicians would use to go to speak easy during the prohibition Nashville Schools suck…..I worked there 20+ years….even their skeletons have skeletons…..just over paid babysitters YES, Nashville has nothing for kids and families, you have to drive between 2 and 4 hours ( IF not longer) to find family things to do Nashville had Fair Park for years then closed it up, just like Opryland ( for what?, flipping strip malls) Oh, Woodbine residents are still fighting to get rid of the raceway over there……bunch of Karens By the way, I heard EVERY word you said in your little video Your just part of the “haves” group, not “have-nots”, so you really don’t know, and of coarse your gonna root for the all encompassing “ NASHVILLE TENNESSEE “
