Not gonna lie, collaboration is my least favourite one.. I only like to collaborate with like-minded people. Anyway, back to the question, I'd say emotional intelligence is the most important skill. People with high emotional intelligence tend to be open-minded, resilient and empathetic. These qualities are key to developing the first four skills you mentioned.

Collaboration is a challenge when you like doing it your way- I hear you! I also agree that emotional intelligence is the most desirable skill these days and it definitely builds up other proficiencies if we give it the effort and attention it needs. So nice to hear your view on this ep.

@@speechausclinic Having said that, I do enjoy working with/learning from capable and knowledgeable people n I think everyone is intelligent in their own way. Good teamwork makes a huge difference! Maybe because I’m an introvert I always need to make an effort to connect to people... working alone is just the most comfortable way but doesn’t necessarily lead to a better outcome. 🙈 I actually googled, jobs that doesn’t require collaboration in the past.

Even tho I always fit in so well wherever I go ... I just find working with a lot of people emotionally draining. Any communication toolkit for introverts? 😢 btw Happy Friday Sarah! 😝

I love collaboration! Especially if it works in both ways. I love creating resources and sharing. I believe that's part of teaching as well. However, sometimes people try to benefit from those. As I am in my early teaching career I don't mind their intentions but mine. Nevertheless this is something that leaves me thinking as one of my experienced colleagues (20 years experience) always tells me that she used to be like me until she got fed up with the situation. What are ur thoughts on this?

@@pzou6500 hi I see what you mean. To me collaboration requires every stakeholder devotes equal amount of time and energy and they can as a result, mutually benefit from one another. It’s an ideal situation but in reality hard to achieve. I truly believe everyone is talented and has something to offer, but some people are just less motivated. The other day I just had this conversation with my boss. I said the hardest thing is stay motivated all the time and we get complacent easily. I’m not good enough to inspire others cos my level of passion and energy is not consistent either.
