I agree with using mid tier racket it is affordable and pretty good performance

Mat Chow yes they perform surprisingly well, but I do think higher tier is better investment as you have rackets for many many years

I started with a mid tier carlton racket but I found even without coaching I grew out of it within a year of playing. So now I use a zf2 or an astrox 88d which I find are well worth the money

You should test out HL rackets. They make more affordable rackets that are still pretty good. Maybe give the HL a700 a try

The A77 is more user friendly out of the lot, A88 is imo the best racket for doubles and ZF2 is great for singles

Cj Leo if you play all events singles and doubles the 88d is an all rounder but if you are a fully comittted doubles player i recommend the 88s. the zf2 has great power but not great control which is singles oriented. for me another option i would go with dzs because it is a good all round racket with power and control. players like hiroyuki endo and viktor axelsen uses it,

Can you do a challenge where both you and Fifi use you’re favorite racket and when you lose a point or miss the shuttle you change racket to a lower tier racket until you get to the lowest tier racket. So let’s say you have a 200 pound racket and you miss the shuttle you then use like a 150 pound racket until you get to a racket thats like 10 pounds or lower. You can change the rules and maybe start with the lowest and get to the highest tier it’s just a idea that i want to see.

WTF what racquet did you get for bloody £200?!?! That's more expensive than a quite expensive tennis racquet over here (México). Even with £60 you can get a 100% original Astrox or Nanoflare. No info about other brands because here Yonex is the only available. True, badminton is not that big in México (sadly TT).
