they made a film - on the road -from the book i dont know if people have seen it as it wasnt really promoted if you like all this you should see it and they made a film about allan ginsberg too but he is in dylan film Im not there ( allan) good stuff in FB of city lights books and the FB of beat museum frisco a good old documentary too hard to think jack hit big year sputnik went up and the term beatnik was coined from sputnik that year by a newspaper columnist

jack hit big when sputnik flew in sky 1957 beatnik is word from that coined by a frisco journalist in newspaper article maybe fb beat museum frisco or fb city lights bookstore

"beat" (in this usage) was coined from Herbert Hunke by Kerouac and ya, "Beatnik" was a media word (often misused to include some very un-beat types).
