I've two of them motor" and the "PowerFunction rc motor with steering", but I had no idea they were rare parts. I also have another, older version of the one-piece rc car motor with steering. I don't remember what set it was in. It has a sort of flippy wire antenna that makes it look like a radio controlled rc car but it's actually IR controlled (the IR receriver in the black plastic cap on top of the wire). It also has a kind of big built-in bumper in the front (very useful: It was a pretty fast car and as a kid I must have drived it against walls full-speed hundreds of times). Edit: Found it. RC Nitro Flash (set number 4589) from 2002.

I had the green one, and mostly used it as an RC car/tank, as the programming ability and those "missions" it came with were really limited and were fun for like 1 day. But the 2-channel steering with an LED that can be connected to something with fiberoptics was another story. Too bad they placed the IR sensors in the front and in a way that would make it difficult to use without losing range a lot.

I used to make my own Lego motors when I was a kid from motors extracted from generic cheap toys, by soldering a 1x2 goldpin plug to them and gluing two flat pieces and a drilled out short cross shaft to them with epoxy. And I had a 9V Lego Technics motor with a battery box, and that battery box was also modified with goldpins to power the DIY motors. They turned pretty fast but the torque was low, as most real Lego motors have some kind of gearbox inside. Did that because flat pieces and shafts are cheap, so why not? Also online shopping was in its infancy back then and we didn't even have the Internet, and shops only had the lame sets without all the cool parts like the pneumatics or weird motors, and if one showed up, it was extremely expensive. Then I eventually got the Mindstorms set with the yellow RCX, and I didn't really use the homemade motors anymore, as it came with 2 normal motors and I didn't want to damage the RCX.

WHAT!!!!! I only have 3 of those monorail trains, but, the other motors, HOLY COW... I have either 14 or 16 of those pieces of junk motors, that sure, that are fast and full of torque, but they are so big, you can't mount then anywhere with out the model needing to be 12 feet tall.. I hated those motors, as there is no way to mount them in an easy hidden fashion.. The red micro motors, with the upper and lower stud clips, I think I have over 20 of those.... Dang, I may have to auction this stuff off.... I am blown away.. I do realize, one would have to find somebody willing to pay those prices you mentioned, as I kinda doubt that they would sell for that much.. The droid kits with brain, I purchased 8 of those from ToysRus when they went out of business for like 8 bucks a kit, just something to do on my lunch break. .and once I got them to work, was the same day a new contract came in and never even got to open them, and in the closet they went.. lol... This is mind blowing.. If these prices are what you are saying they are, I have something like $1000 to 2000 worth in parts that I will not ever do anything with... hummmm.

The buggy motor I actually have it. I bought it back in ~2006 Technic in the motor expansion/buddle pack set 8287. I mainly bought it cause in set 8284 recommends using that particular motor with the set. Since it was one of the more recent/current Technic motors of the 2006 Technic wave of sets. I actually have the white Monorail motor. I randomly stumbled apan an eBay listing a few years ago that had a few random technic parts including the monorail motor. I think I payed something like $25 for all of the Lego parts. The seller obviously didn't know what parts he had since the eBay listing was titled loosely based on what the seller somewhat knows what he has.
