I would say for someone looking to get into it and doesn't want to break the bank both Naked & Famous and Brave Star are probably good places to start. N&F might not be the cheapest but they do usually have stuff on sale and are available in stores for the most part while Brave Star is a very no-frills all US made brand that has enough variety that it's good to start with. I might also add UES as a brand to try, again very simple but great foundation piece to start with.

My first raw denim jeans were ONI-679BZR 20OZ dark indigo secret denim :) altogether beautiful, slow fading, not very contrast, super comfy, perfect for cold weather.

@@AlejandroJomar I started wearing them in January 2022. It's cold here in Northern Europe so such heavy jeans can be worn for 7-8 months per year. I also own Pure Blue Japan and Flat Head jeans, but ONI is my favorite :D The fabric is so good.

If you don't mind digging into used 1791 Supply made some good selvedge jeans if you're a bigger guy. It's woven on selvedge mills in North Carolina and sown in Kentucky. For $50-75 used it's a really nice pair of everyday jeans.

I ordered my first 2 pairs of selvedge denim jeans earlier today, Unbranded Brand Ub201 and Naked & Famous Weird Guy Left Hand Twill. I've never owned a pair of selvedge denim jeans so wish me luck. My first pair of raw denim jeans is gustins a 13oz cone mills denim in skinny fit now I'm a skinny guy and I bought true to size and at first the crouch was tight its loose now so I had this idea of sizing up in waist so I did that with 2 of my brave stars back in 2021 I do regret it cause obvious reasons but I still rocked them and beat them up from work I had to wash one twice due to I accidentally spilled a drug test on them lol but rn I'm gonna get the waist fixed while I rock a pair of Sugercanes and pure blue Japan's

Hey man! Do you think its ok to use oxyclean on raw denim when heavily stained? I dont like wearing stained or yellowish denim, but am worried i will damage it if i use oxyclean

Hello my friend! To be honest with you, I think it should be fine for the most part as long as it’s diluted in the water first before you put the denim in to avoid any uneven discoloration. It most likely might lighten the denim up all around, but on an even scale so it won’t be noticeable. To be safe. I would ask a professional at a dry cleaner first if they can do it, as they usually can. Hope this helps!

Depends on the weight generally. Heavyweight is great for winter, lightweight better for the dead of summer. Midweights might be most versatile.

Lightweight yes, I gave up on heavyweight here in the Philippines. It's just miserable. I don't know where you live but I know my country is warm. It's either warm (and humid btw) or wet, the only weather conditions we have.

@@bassyey I live in a humid and warm country. 14oz was okay/perfect in winter, okay/uncomfy in summer. I wouldn't go more than 14oz if you have similar heat and humidity. Do not consider 20oz unless you will wear in winter only.

I really like them, but they haven’t really faded much after a year. I didn’t wear them super consistently for about 6 months and that is likely why so I’ve started wearing them more.
