Not a bad idea. As of yesterday you can now also fly the avata 2 with your goggles2/integra and remote controller 2 so if you do decide to upgrade it would only be the drone you need to get.

With the latest firmware update, reason no 3 is now irrelevant.

Well it’s only compatible with the remote 2 and goggles 2/integra - for point 3 to be completely irrelevant we would need backwards compatibility between the goggles 3/remote 3 and O3 systems. But it’s a step in the right direction and shows that compatibility between O3 and O4 gear is possible - so I’m hopeful!!

@@dronewilder5234 I don't think there's really a compatibility between O3 and O4, but rather the drone is able to back support working with O3. This is not only an issue with the transmission protocol, but also the fact the with the Goggles 3 the drone "talks" to the goggles which communicates with the RC, while with O3, the drone "talks" to each separately. This is why I believe we won't see any cross-platform compatibility.

@@adunsky I guess the interesting question then would be, with this new update, does it mean the avata 2 now accepts direct communication with the remote 2 or does the update mean, the remote 2 is sending data to the goggles to and then to the avata 2. Anyway if full backward compatibility is unlikely, that would make a strong case for people to buy an avata 2 with goggles 2 and remote too in order to also have o3 air unit support (unless an O4 air unit gets released- which I’m sure it will)

In a sense yes but we are only half way there- I’m still waiting for full backwards compatibility to allow o3 systems to work with the O4 remote and goggles- really hope dji find a way to make this happen.
