I shot Nikon for years and when we were in Alaska last year, brought my D4 with a multitude of lenses and my favorite, the 300 f2.8. Sadly, when I returned, I sold all my gear and went to Sony. After 6 months, just found the camera too small in my hands with the larger lenses, so sold that and now have switched to the Canon 1Dx. Awesome camera with great tracking ability. Ready to head back to Alaska for some more great photo ops!

I have experienced good results with aviation and wildlife photography using the Fujifilm X-T2. It too has an electronic (silent) shutter option which I use most to the time. However when photographing propeller driven airplanes the mechanical shutter prevents the propellers from appearing bent in the resulting images. I've also seen odd appearing (shaped) wings when photographing hummingbirds utilizing the electronic shutter.

Looks a decent camera but here are my reasons why I am sticking with my Panasonic G80/85; The price (I got my G80 for £649 UK), broader selection of native lenses (I can choose Panasonic/Leica or Olympus lenses all of which are great), The touchscreen seems way better on my G80 than on the Sony (plus you can use all menu functions via touchscreen, not just shooting mode), Erganomics (I prefer a DSLR style body and the optional grip works great & is weather-sealed and of course extends battery life), Menu systems are slicker and easier to navigate on Panasonic (my opinion), my Panasonic has a fully-articulating screen whereas the Sony is only tiltable. And finally, the Panasonic has no AA filter thus improving resolution and sharpness. I still like the way Sony is heading though, some nice kit and innovative features so I hope they keep pushing the tech forwards.

Very nice I watched this one live. Do you plan on reviewing the a6500 or talk about your experience as a former Nikon user? That'd be awesome!

thanks Bruno, I will definitely review it. I haven't ditched my Nikon gear completely (still love the 200-500 for wildlife) but I find myself mostly shooting Sony these days. They are innovating while Nikon is offering more of the same. I hope Nikon can surprise us with some innovation soon.

might not upgrade to an APC but would love IBIS and silent shutter on a Nikon...... but I guess the dinosaurs gave up on that already... lol
