Sid Hatch, Th.M. (Dallas Theological Seminary) and long-term Baptist minister relates to a Theological Conference about his journey from Trinitarianism to being a One God believer. In his presentation, he talks about Scriptural, Technical, Practical, Historical and Prophetic reasons he changed his view from the idea that “God is three in one” to his faith that “God is truly One.” This presentation was made at Oregon Bible College.

See that's the thing. Does the bible contradict itself? One second it says Jesus is only the son of God and the next it says before Abraham, I Am? This makes no sense to me. I don't want to leave Christianity, because i do believe in Jesus, but what is going on here? Do we worship Him or God. Maybe I need to go through a deconstruction process.

@@jordyn_shorts ... It doesn't make sense to you of course.. The phrase before Abraham was, I am.. means he's telling the people before Abraham came to existence Jesus (Yahusha) already exist. And before the creation of the world.. Remember man haven't even created yet before the world was if he is only a man.

Thank you Brother Hatch for a wonderful lesson. In many ways I was blessed to have not been brought up in the church as my parents grew up in differing denominations (Assembly of God and Southern Baptist), so they attended neither. In my early 20's I became very involved in a very legalistic denomination to the point I did a couple of years as a missionary in a Third World country. While there I was convicted too many things I had just swallowed as facts were far from the Truth. When I came home I purged my Faith of everything I had ever learned and only held on to the Bible as the Word of God. It took a number of years of study to rediscover the Truth and doctrine of the trinity was left on the trash heap of theology where it belongs. ~Shalom

This was WORTH MY TIME! Some unique perspectives. "Show me how to draw a square circle, and I will let you explain the Trinity"! 😅🤣🥰 Jews use Zach 14:9, The Great Prophesy, almost as much as the Shema. In it the LORD who will be King over all the earth is YHVH. YHVH will be recognized as ONE. It is affirming the Shema. Those who keep the Shema will be marked with the Father's Name on their foreheads.

@@captivetohope Correct! Some places say, "the seal of God"; Jesus said, "I will write the Name of my God and the Name of the city of my God and my own new name"; "The Lamb and the Name of his Father". This all starts with the Shema in Deut 6:4 which says we will be marked or sealed on the forehead with the Name of God who is One. As a Jew and a Christian being sealed with the Name of God is the foundational point. To me being "sealed" is about a relationship, not actually a physical imprint, but just as obvious.

I started out as a trinitarian (nearly 40 years) and learned that wasn't right. Then I thought perhaps Yeshua and Yah were one. I sat with that for a few months but I still couldn't answer a lot of questions and it just was not sitting right with me. Then finally Yah opened my eyes to ONE GOD and his son Yeshua. Yep, we can see the revelation of that moment: _'YHWH, the GOD of your fathers, the GOD of Abraham, the GOD of Isaac, and the GOD of Jacob, has sent me to you, this is my name forever, and this is my memorial to all generations'_ - Exodus 3.15 _'Christ the firstfruit, then those who are Christ’s at His coming. Then the end comes, when he will deliver up the Kingdom to GOD the Father, when he will have abolished all rule and all authority and power. For he must reign until he has put all His enemies under His feet. The last enemy that will be abolished is death. For, He put all things in subjection under his feet - but when He says, 'all things are put in subjection', it is evident that He is excepted who subjected all things to Him. When all things have been subjected to Him, then the Son will also himself be subjected to Him who subjected all things to Him, _*_that GOD may be all in all'_* - 1 Cor 15.23-28

How do you multiply 3 different things together and get one thing? (1x1x1=1). Three distinct things cannot be multiplied together...they must be added. So father god plus son god plus spirit god equals 3 gods. The greatest commandment is that our God is one God. Not that our God is a multiplicity of three anythings.

Here are Bible verses showing there are two: the Father, and Jesus: ■ "Jesus answered and said unto him, If a man love me, he will keep my words: and my Father will love him, and we will come unto him, and make our abode with him." (John 14:23) (The Father + Jesus = 2 . . . with no mention of the holy spirit as a third person.) ■ "In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. The same was in the beginning with God. All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made." (John 1:1-3) (The Father + Jesus = 2 . . . with no mention of the holy spirit as a third person.) ■ "I and my Father are one." (John 10:30) (The Father + Jesus = 2 . . . with no mention of the holy spirit as a third person.) ■ "But to us there is but one God, the Father, of whom are all things, and we in him; and one Lord Jesus Christ, by whom are all things, and we by him." (1 Cor 8:6) (The Father + Jesus = 2 . . . with no mention of the holy spirit as a third person.) ■ "And now, O Father, glorify thou me with thine own self with the glory which I had with thee before the world was." (John 17:5) (The Father + Jesus = 2 . . . with no mention of the holy spirit as a third person.) Only the Father and Jesus are mentioned in the opening greetings of the epistles: ■ “To all that be in Rome, beloved of God, called to be saints: Grace to you and peace from God our Father, and the Lord Jesus Christ” (Paul, in Romans 1:7) ■ “Grace be unto you, and peace, from God our Father, and from the Lord Jesus Christ.” (Paul, in 1 Corinthians 1:3) ■ “Grace be with you, mercy, and peace, from God the Father, and from the Lord Jesus Christ, the Son of the Father, in truth and love.” (John, in 2 John 1:3) ■ "Grace be to you and peace from God our Father, and from the Lord Jesus Christ" (2 Corinthians 1:2) ■ "Grace be to you and peace from God the Father, and from our Lord Jesus Christ" (Galatians 1:3) ■ "Grace be to you, and peace, from God our Father, and from the Lord Jesus Christ" (Ephesians 1:2) ■ "Grace be unto you, and peace, from God our Father, and from the Lord Jesus Christ" (Philippians 1:2) ■ "To the saints and faithful brethren in Christ which are at Colosse: Grace be unto you, and peace, from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ." (Colossians 1:2) ■ "Paul, and Silvanus, and Timotheus, unto the church of the Thessalonians which is in God the Father and in the Lord Jesus Christ: Grace be unto you, and peace, from God our Father, and the Lord Jesus Christ" (1 Thessalonians 1:1) ■ "Grace unto you, and peace, from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ" (2 Thessalonians 1:2) ■ "Unto Timothy, my own son in the faith: Grace, mercy, and peace, from God our Father and Jesus Christ our Lord." (1 Timothy 1:2) ■ "To Timothy, my dearly beloved son: Grace, mercy, and peace, from God the Father and Christ Jesus our Lord" (2 Timothy 1:2) ■ "To Titus, mine own son after the common faith: Grace, mercy, and peace, from God the Father and the Lord Jesus Christ our Saviour" (Titus 1:4) ■ "Grace to you, and peace, from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ" (Philemon 1:3) ■ "Grace and peace be multiplied unto you through the knowledge of God, and of Jesus our Lord" (2 Peter 1:2) The only persons mentioned were the Father, and Jesus. Can we be honest enough to admit there is nothing to suggest a Trinity - three persons - in these greetings? There are many similar statements, mentioning only the Father and Jesus. Here are a few of them: ■ “Peace be to the brethren, and love with faith, from God the Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.” (Ephesians 6:23) ■ “Now God himself and our Father, and our Lord Jesus Christ, direct our way unto you.” (1 Thessalonians 3:11) ■ “Now our Lord Jesus Christ himself, and God, even our Father, which hath loved us, and hath given us everlasting consolation and good hope through grace, Comfort your hearts, and stablish you in every good word and work.” (2 Thessalonians 2:16,17) ■ “Let that therefore abide in you, which ye have heard from the beginning. If that which ye have heard from the beginning shall remain in you, ye also shall continue in the Son, and in the Father.” (1 John 2:24) ■ “That which we have seen and heard declare we unto you, that ye also may have fellowship with us: and truly our fellowship is with the Father, and with his Son Jesus Christ.” (1 John 1:3) ■ “But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you. Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his” (Romans 8:9)

Yes, because he gave his life to pay back what Adam lost. Adam was a perfect man, and Jesus was a perfect man. From my Bible reading, Jesus was God's first creation, hence the term, "only begotten", since all other things were created through him. That does not make Jesus God, but he was created as a spirit being. God transferred Jesus' life force into Mary's womb, and was born as a perfect human. He lived his life perfectly, until death. He was resurrected as a spirit being and is now sitting at the right hand of God Almighty, having been given all power and authority until after Satan and his minions are thrown into the lake of fire, which means the second death. At that time, Jesus gives the Kingdom back to God Almighty, since his job will have been completed.

Jesus died to atone for humankind's sin who are imperfect through no fault of their own. Adam, after he sinned, could only pass on sin and death to his children. Why does he confuse echad - one (Deuteronomy 6:4) with yachid? The first (!) occurence of the word is Genesis 2:24: wəhayu ləbassar echad - and they shall become one kin/flesh/body. Why is he obfuscating this? The Greek renders echad as heis/mia/hen, not as monos! 'I and the Father are one' is in reference to Deuteronomy 6:4, and Messiah goes even further to say: 'You shall be one', implying: with me and the Father as we are one. (Read John, from ch.14 to 17.)

He is right in saying of echad: 'Not a union of parts'. However, a union and unity of whole ones it is (as in Judges: kə'ish echad, like one man (they all)). It amazes me how after being wrong he got God and Messiah wrong again (by excluding the Son from the Father, as if we were in the position to hold him apart from his Father who has given him all and everything to be as the Father is to all. The important part is: There is no jealousy of God towards those whom he loves. That is why neither Avraham nor Moyses failed when they spoke to the Angel as to the One Who Is. Does that not make one think why God let the Angel (explicitly as stated in the letters) appear in The Name?)

That said, and should such a god and doctrine justify such claims, then we are assured such words would be plainly written in scripture, rather than having to rely on people's own words. Therefore, and as there are no such words written, and where Jesus Himself would not worship, teach or preach a triune god - the conclusions is, that the trinity is nothing more than a product of human corruption rather than the truth. PS, the fact that the most popular Bible passage used to justify a triune god has been proven to be fraudulent, only goes to show the desperation of the belief itself.

Thank you for sharing, Sid. The Lord has taught me the correct way by which to teach the Holy Trinity/Divine Trinity which is as follows: Explaining the Divine Trinity in today's body of Christendom, by the widely accepted dogma of the Godhead consisting in three divine persons. I’ve been made mindful of the Gordian Knot, and the leviathan spoken of in Job, Psalms, and Isaiah 27:1 In that day the Lord with his sore and great and strong sword shall punish leviathan the piercing serpent, even leviathan that crooked serpent; and he shall slay the dragon that is in the sea. Selah As men, we have a tendency, natural tendency, to eat the flesh of one another's arm, by which we force our rationale of material appearances, back into Spiritual meanings, which is impossible, for the spiritual flows into the natural and not the reverse. The Lord's Holy Apostle Paul, now an Angel, made this known in 1 Corinthians 15:46, KJV. Jesus warned us when making judgements, Judge not to appearances of things, but judge ye righteous judgements. A lot of heretical dogmas have been factiously erected throughout the ages. In the book of Revelation, entirely a Spiritual writing, the Dragon is the mother of all heretical dogmas. In the hope of awakening all men to the many snaring dogmas in the world today, the Lord has made known and permitted me to share the following banquet of the New Jerusalem. *The particulars of the Divine Trinity are expounded on in Chapter; Unfathomable Wonderment, Holy Trinity Taught Correctly in Its Age. The Divine Person of God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ, though in essence is uncreate and indivisibly one, is distinguishably so in a Divine Trinity of Father (Yehovah; Hebrew and Jehovah; English - Creative Divine), Son (Incarnate human form born in time of Creative Divine), and Holy Spirit (Emanating radiance of goodwill from the Creative Divine’s union in ultimate’s (singularity) of His glorified Human, Christ Jesus our Lord and God). My friends this Divine Trinity is one as soul, body, and operation in man is one, and even more so, when one considers the Lord God is the very all in all by which we of the living are created in the image and likeness there in, from, and too. Thank you, Lord. P.S. Sid, for a thing to be there must be infinite and eternal All in All Holy Trinity. Sid for you even to speak Amen, requires a triune action. Selah

We already understand how you view your trinitarian concept, there's no need to repeat it here. The God of both the old and new Testament is very clearly not a Trinitarian God Like the Hindus or the Babylonians et cetera. In fact, His being a Monotheistic deity is what separated him from all of the other religions in the ancient world. The God of The Bible is definitely not a trinitarian deity.

It is hard to understand that Jesus said my Father is greater than I? if he claims power second to God the Father what is he? He was already in the old testament... Trinity is Busted. Proverbs 30:4 Who hath ascended up into heaven, or descended? who hath gathered the wind in his fists? who hath bound the waters in a garment? who hath established all the ends of the earth? what is his name, and what is his son's name, if thou canst tell? One cannot understand the Messiah of his divinity because the Father doesn't reveal it anyone but those he chose to reveal him. I don't see why Philippians can't be a deliberate use of double meaning, i.e., Jesus is pre-existent but does not therefore grasp at divinity, by which refusal he becomes the new/second Adam - precisely because, unlike Edenic Adam, Jesus was not a grasper. Of course, Jesus could be "just" the new Adam, but if he's also the preexistent heavenly Son who emptied himself of divinity, then of course he does function as the perfected Adam. Both concepts can be seen to work together.

When it comes to topics such as these, terminology and word definitions matter. In fact, we could as far as to say that the inherent quality of words and their intended meaning are pivotal in the conclusions that follow. One good example of this can be seen with the word; _'divinity',_ in-that it is never used or intended to mean _'equality'_ in scripture, or, that the term _'divine'_ relates to that which is; of GOD; godly, godlike, Holy, and so-on and so-forth. - and contrasting with equality, which is far more specific, in-that it calls for measure between subjects. In addition to this, it's also worth noting that the language in the passage in question, identifies the son as actively existing(past-tense), thereby making a contrast with regard to equality between GOD who is not being held(or reached for), and the Son of GOD, and who was not equal-to, while existing in said form. - hope this helps

@@davidjanbaz7728 Your comment raises goods points on the ongoing issue with the trinity doctrine - that is to say, that the belief is propped-up on made-up terms and definitions that are nowhere found in scripture - for example; _'Jesus the Visible YHWH'_ - is not a term, title of statement of GOD's written word and therefore a fabrication _'both persons of the Godhead'_ - is also not a term, title or statement found in GOD's written word either _'Jesus is both God and the Son of God'_ - is also not a term, title or statement found in GOD's written word as well And so, what's most revealing with the trinity, in-that it is not based-upon GOD's written word, but moreso, that it proves to be product of human imagination and lies. Which is subsequently compounded by the fact that there is not one single person in all of Bible history(Saint of Prophet), who is either worshipping, teaching or preaching a triune god - which would include, though not limited-to - the only begotten son of GOD Himself, of whom we all know worshipped in truth. And so the problem prove to be so painfully evident, that it is difficult to accommodate in good faith, and within even the most humble of discussions. And finally and on the topic of the Holy Spirit, it is most unfortunate that Christendom consist of claims to the Holy Spirit in defence of beliefs - and moreso, that it is obvious that this in-itself, does not constitute evidence for truth of GOD unfortunately...

As the Bible does not consist of 90 verses, and where the truth calls for the harmony of all of GOD's written scripture, the conclusion is that the Bible testifies to the fact that Jesus is/was and always will be the prophesied Messiah and Son of GOD. That being said, and so-long as someone cherry-picks Bible passages, either by highlighting those that cater to their view, while discounting or ignoring the passages that do not cater to their view - they consequently do not know the truth of matters. Having said all that, and when we set-aside all of the word games and various tactics used by people to deceive others, the conclusion provided to us from the Hebrew and Greek texts making-up what is now known as the Bible today, reveals that Jesus was in-fact the only begotten son of GOD and prophesied Messiah.

Lovely talk, but I disagree with him on the *_preexistance of Christ._* Throughout the Bible, we find clues to our spiritual nature, from Genesis 1.26 and 6.3, to John 3.6. We find more in Numbers 14.18 compared to Ezekiel 18.18-20. And we find even more when Christ disagrees with John the Baptist, telling his followers that John had become a stumbling block at not remembering who he really is and who Jesus is. And after John's execution, Jesus told his followers that Elijah had indeed come and they did with him whatever they wished. What exactly is the nature of our *_reincarnation?_* That remains unclear to me, but thousands of people have remembered past lives and have learned great lessons from them. And then Jesus told of his own reincarnation when he spoke with Nicodemus in John 3.13. 😎♥✝🇺🇸💯

Hebrews 2:11 Both the one who makes men holy and those who are made holy are of the same family. So Jesus is not ashamed to call them brothers. Every one's journey out of Trinitarianism is so unique! (Disagree with his explanation of YACHID. YACHID means one in the sense of unique, only. ECHAD is the number one - a counting number; but YACHID isn't a numeral and simply means unique, the only one. We would explain Isaac as the YACHID son of Abraham and Sarah; Jethro's daughter was YACHID; and Jesus was the YACHID begotten son of God. Compoundness, complexity, collectiveness, etc. isn't to be found in the number but in the noun to which the number refers, e.g. one herd, two herds, one flock compared with one dog, two dogs - the former nouns of herd and flock are collective nouns, but the common noun of dog is one being, one entity.)

@@urdrwho1 There is a historic document where someone explains that 616 was a mistranslation. The number is actually 666. That has been put to rest. It is possible that 666 has multiple meanings. I have heard 3 or 4 explanations that equally make sense. Nero's name would make sense because he did so much to try and destroy Christianity. The Book of Revelation is actually about the destruction Jewish Christianity, the murder of Jewish Christians, and things that have already happened. Only the very end of the book is about current time. Nero killed Christians in the First Century when Christianity was a sect of Judaism. Christians met in the local Jewish synagogues, and most Christians were Jewish. Eventually a new form of Christianity spread among the Gentiles, which was a hybrid with Greek philosophy. John's student, Ignatius, saw this happening very early and recorded this as being the antichrist. In 325 Constantine laid the foundations for the Trinitarian Roman Catholic Church. The men at the Council of Nicea were all Gentiles. With the creation of the Trinity the non-Trinitarian Jewish Christians were burnt at the stake or banished. There have been new leaders murdering non-Trinitarian Christians ever since, even up to this century when they could get away with it. So, 666 is more than Nero. Nero was just the first in a long line of man killing the descendants of the original Christians who worshipped the One True God of the Hebrew Bible. Historically, people in branches of early Christianity who would not accept the Greco-Roman Doctrine of the Trinity were murdered. So, what would be the identifying mark of the people in the dominant institution who killed off the non-Trinitarians? Would they be marked with the number of their god, the Trinity? Is it a meaningless coincidence that the number of the Trinity just happens to be 666? I find it consistent that since Christianity was remade on Greek culture, that people continue turn to the Greeks to find answers for all the metaphors, when the Bible was written 100% by Jews, and rarely do scholars look to the Jews for answers. I don't expect anyone to care what 666 means in Hebrew numerology. That's OK. But for me, if Jesus didn't say it; I don't have to believe it. I have to ask anyone who claims to be a honest truth seeker: If you believe in a doctrine, if you believe a formula for God that is nowhere in the Bible, do you know where it came from? What is your justification for explaining why we needed the Roman Catholic Church to tell us who "god really is" 400 years after Jesus came and failed to do so? How do you justify that? If you are sealed with the Name of God, what is it? What is the meaning of God's Sacred Name? "Hallowed be Thy Name". Do you sanctify it?

Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his. [10] And if Christ be in you, the body is dead because of sin; but the Spirit is life because of righteousness. [11] But if the Spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, he that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by his Spirit that dwelleth in you. Philippians 4:13 KJV [13] I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me. 2 Corinthians 13:5 KJV [5] Examine yourselves, whether ye be in the faith; prove your own selves. That said, one would think that the lack of even one single mention of anyone worshipping such a god in all of Bible history would be enough, or that Jesus Himself would not worship, teach or preach of such a god at any point in His ministry - and yet, millions of would-be Christians today, will fight tooth-and-nail, to adhere to such beliefs, and even to the point of denying written scripture itself...

I started a discussion of the Trinity on another bible study site. I am no longer a believer in the Trinity and it came after much study. Call me silly but when Yahweh / God says to have no other Gods before him; that he is a jealous God; that Jesus himself said don't worship me; Jesus told them, “When you pray, say: ‘Father, hallowed be Your name". I do not believe there is anyplace Jesus said to bow down and worship him. That entire triangle that people use to teach Trinity makes no biblical sense or logical sense. So I started the discussion on Trinity and eventually the moderator shut it down and said it was against the rule. I read the rules and yep - there will be no anti-Trinity discussions. Well now there's a good site for discussions.....not!!! So more of the same old same old big church control. Don't let the people know, pass the plate and keep quiet. The early church found themselves in a problem. They wanted to worship Jesus as a God but that would mean polytheism, non monotheism. So they needed to come up with a plan and it took a few centuries to do it but by around the 4th century they had it become doctrine. It reached the point that the most all of Origen's writings were burned, it was illegal (by the church) to teach his beliefs and he was declared a heretic and done long after his death. "Origen was an ex post facto heretic, anathematised by the second council of Constantinople in 553, some three centuries after his death." And you wonder why the pews are more empty each and every week. Perhaps there is some false teaching going on but you'll never hear it from pastors.

For the life of me I cannot understand how anyone after reading the New Testament can think that Jesus is the Father. Jesus at times was criticized for claiming He was equal to the Father AND He also at times said the Father was greater than Him. It is about context and about Jesus being truly God and truly human. The Word was God and was with God and the Word tabernacled in flesh, incarnate. Jesus was eternally the Son of God according to the Holy Bible but Jesus who is the Son of God became known as Jesus once He took on human flesh. The Holy Spirit is NOT an it or just a thought or anything else or just power, He is God. Jesus Himself said I and the Father will send HIM, not it, not the power. You will recieve power when He comers, but He is in the Trinity of God. There is only one God, how hard is that to understand? Unitarians think one God takes on different modes such as power or the Lamb of God, yet choke on the truth that God manifest Himself in 3 persons. Well, you have to deceive the deceived to get an Amen that the Trinity of God is not true. Scriptures reveal the Trinity over and over, even in the Old Testament.

YES, God is Father, Son and Spirit as you can see from In the Beginning Father speaks through Son Word and Spirit is hovering over the deep. Made in God's Image Three active in One in God and we are spirit, soul and body in one. Whenever you see the Father act or speak, then so is the Son and Spirit always acting and Present. John 14-16 The Spirit lives in true believers in Divine Lord and Messiah. Jesus says We, as in One God come to live in you and lead your life and not leave you orphans after Christ rose again Back to Heaven. So what if a scripture or two refers to Christ as Man, it never ever takes away from tons of scripture revealing He is GodMan.

Please don't use Trinity. It causes confusion. Use this, for it is from the Bible: Godhead The term “Godhead " is found three times in the King James Version: Acts 17:29, Romans 1:20, and Colossians 2:9. In each of the three verses, a slightly different Greek word is used, but the definition of each is the same: “deity” or “divine nature.” The word Godhead is used to refer to God’s essential nature. We’ll look at each of these passages and what they mean. In Acts 17, Paul is speaking on Mars Hill to the philosophers of Athens. As he argues against idolatry, Paul says, “Forasmuch then as we are the offspring of God, we ought not to think that the Godhead is like unto gold, or silver, or stone, graven by art and man’s device” (Acts 17:29, KJV). Here, the word Godhead is the translation of the Greek word, a word used by the Greeks to denote “God” in general, with no reference to a particular deity. Paul, speaking to the Greeks, used the term about the only true God. In Romans 1, Paul makes the case that all humanity stands guilty before God. In verse 20, he says, “The invisible things of him from the world's creation are seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse” (KJV). Here, Godhead is theiotés. Paul’s argument is that all of creation virtually shouts the existence of God; we can “clearly” see God’s eternal power and His “Godhead” in what He has made. “The heavens declare the glory of God; / the skies proclaim the work of his hands” (Psalm 19:1). The natural world manifests God's divine nature. Colossians 2:9 is one of the most straightforward statements of the deity of Christ anywhere in the Bible: “In him [Christ] dwelleth all the fulness of the Godhead bodily.” The word for “Godhead” here is theotés. According to this verse, Jesus Christ is God Incarnate. He embodies all (“the fullness”) of God (translated as “the Deity” in the NIV). This truth aligns perfectly with Colossians 1:19, “God was pleased to have all his fullness dwell in him [Christ].” Because the Godhead dwells bodily in Christ, Jesus could rightly claim that He and the Father are “one” (John 10:30). Because the fullness of God’s divine essence is present in the Son of God, Jesus could say to Philip, “Anyone who has seen me has seen the Father” (John 14:9). In summary, the Godhead is the essence of the Divine Being; the Godhead is the only Deity. Jesus, the incarnate Godhead, entered our world and showed us exactly who God is: “No one has ever seen God, but the one and only Son, who is himself God and is in closest relationship with the Father, has made him known” (John 1:18; cf. Hebrews 1:3).

Contrary to popular belief, the term 'godhead' does not actually appear three times in scripture - in fact, it could be argued that the word doesn't exist at all, in-that it is a bi-product of translation and distortion of the written truth. That said, and assuming we do subject to the idea that the word exists in the Greek texts, then we would have to conceded that the word be one of three variants, and that the cited references cannot all be the same; *Col 2.9* - _'for in him all the fullness of the Deity dwells bodily'_ The Greek word _'theotés',_ otherwise translated; _'godhead',_ by certain English Bible translations, is defined in the Greek lexicons as; _'deity or godhead',_ and appears once(1), in all of Scripture *Romans 1.20* - _'for the invisible things of him since the creation of the world are clearly seen, being perceived through the things that are made, even his everlasting power and divinity, that they may be without excuse'_ In this passage, the word sometimes claimed as godhead by specific Bible translations is; _'theiotés', and is defined in the Greek Lexicon as; _'divinity, divine nature',_ and appears once(1), in all of the Greek texts *Acts 17.29* - _'being then the offspring of God, we ought not to think that the Divine Nature is like gold, or silver, or stone, engraved by art and design of man'_ In this passage, and for the word translated 'godhead' by select Bible translations is; _'theios',_ and is defined in the Lexicon to mean; _'divine; subst: the deity',_ and appears three(3) times in the Greek texts Therefore and with that being said, the prognosis is not good for the claim to godhead at all, as the word does not prove to be consistent, let-alone definitive in scripture, and moreso, where so many people today appear to hinge their own doctrine and belief upon a word that would otherwise prove unfounded and out-of-sorts with the remainder of scripture.

Some people claim to believe that Jesus was a “good prophet”, but they deny that Jesus is God. If that is you, I would like to encourage you to consider some of these Bible verses: Matthew 1:23 - “Behold, the virgin shall be with child, and bear a Son, and they shall call His name Immanuel,” which is translated, “God with us.” Isaiah 9:6 - For unto us a Child is born, Unto us a Son is given; And the government will be upon His shoulder. And His name will be called Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. Isaiah 43:10,11 - “You are My witnesses,” says the Lord, “And My servant whom I have chosen, That you may know and believe Me, and understand that I am He. Before Me there was no God formed, Nor shall there be after Me. I, even I, am the Lord, and besides Me there is no Savior.” Revelation 1:17-18; Revelation 2:8 - (Jesus is the First and the Last) Isaiah 44:6 - (God is the Redeemer) 2 Peter 1:1 (Jesus is the Redeemer) - “To those who have obtained like precious faith with us by the righteousness of our God and Savior Jesus Christ” Isaiah 44:24 - (God created the world by Himself alone) John 1:3; Colossians 1:16 - (Jesus made all things) John 1:1-3 - In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God. All things were made through Him, and without Him nothing was made that was made... 1:14 - And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, John 5:17,18 - “My Father has been working until now, and I have been working.” Therefore the Jews sought to kill Him, because He not only broke the Sabbath, but also said that God was His Father, making Himself equal with God. John 5:23 - that all should honor the Son just as they honor the Father. He who does not honor the Son does not honor the Father who sent Him. John 8:24 - “Therefore I said to you that you will die in your sins; for if you do not believe that I AM [He], you will die in your sins.” John 8:58 - Then Jesus said to them, “Most assuredly, I say to you, before Abraham was, I AM.” John 10:30-33 - Jesus answered them, “I and My Father are one.” Then the Jews took up stones again to stone Him. Jesus answered them, “Many good works I have shown you from My Father. For which of those works do you stone Me?” The Jews answered Him, saying, “For a good work we do not stone You, but for blasphemy, and because You, being a Man, make Yourself God.” John 14:6-7 - Jesus said to him, “I AM the way, the truth, and the Life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.” John 14:9-11 - Jesus said to him, “Have I been with you so long and yet you have not known Me, Philip? He who has seen Me has seen the Father; so how can you say, 'Show us the Father'?” John 20:28 - And Thomas answered and said to Him, “My Lord and my God!” Acts 4:12 - “Nor is there salvation in any other, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved.” Acts 20:28 - (God purchased us with His own blood) Revelation 1:5-6; Revelation 5:8-9 - (Jesus' blood purchased us) Philippians 2:5-7 - Let this mind be in you which was also in Christ Jesus, who, being in the form of God, did not consider it robbery to be equal with God, but made Himself of no reputation, taking the form of a bond-servant, and coming in the likeness of men. Colossians 2:9 - For in Him dwells all the fullness of the Godhead bodily 1 Timothy 3:16 - And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness: God was manifested in the flesh, Justified in the Spirit, Seen by angels, Preached among the Gentiles, Believed on in the world, Received up in glory. Titus 2:13 - looking for the blessed hope and glorious appearing of our great God and Savior Jesus Christ Hebrews 1:8-9 - But to the Son He says: “Your throne, O God, is forever and ever; A scepter of righteousness is the scepter of Your kingdom. You have loved righteousness and hated lawlessness; Therefore God, Your God, has anointed You with the oil of gladness more than Your companions.” 2 John 1:7 - For many deceivers have gone out into the world who do not confess Jesus Christ as coming in the flesh. This is a deceiver and an antichrist. Revelation 1:8 - “I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End,” says the Lord, “who is and who was and who is to come, the Almighty.” Revelation 22:13 - “I AM the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End, the First and the Last.”... 22:16 - “I, Jesus, have sent My angel to testify to you these things in the churches.” 1 Timothy 6:14-16 - “our Lord Jesus Christ's appearing, which He will manifest in His own time, He who is the blessed and only Potentate, the King of kings and Lord of lords, who alone has immortality, dwelling in unapproachable light, whom no man has seen or can see, to whom be honor and everlasting power. Amen.” Hebrews 2:17-18 - “Therefore, in all things He had to be made like His brethren, that He might be a merciful and faithful High Priest in things pertaining to God, to make propitiation for the sins of the people. For in that He Himself has suffered, being tempted, He is able to aid those who are tempted.” Hebrews 4:15-16 - “For we do not have a High Priest who cannot sympathize with our weaknesses, but was in all points tempted as we are, yet without sin. Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need.” 1 Peter 2:24 - “who Himself bore our sins in His own body on the tree, that we having died to sins, might live for righteousness - by whose stripes you were healed.” He went from sovereignty to shame and from deity to death? Why!? For you. John 15:13 - “Greater love has no one than this, than to lay down one's life for his friends.” Romans 5:8 - “But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.”

All of those verses are perfect for Unitary Monotheism! Thanks for collecting them! I highly recommend the Restitutio podcast episodes "417 One God 7: Jesus, God's Agent" and "418 One God 8: Jesus Called God?". The whole series is fantastic, but those two in particular help develop a Biblical understanding of this issue! Interestingly, many Unitarians are able to say "Jesus is elohim" WITHOUT subscribing to the doctrine of the Trinity! Which version were you using for your quotes? I couldn't help but notice that some of them were tweaked away from what the more literal translations say?

@@lizzard13666 those scriptures that i have send you, they speak about Jesus in many diversity's, but i personally believe, and please quote me if Iam wrong. God is one? that's what the Bible says, the trinity is a bit of a mystery, but i really believe that God is one and only. And as we know he is a Spirit, so that makes Him, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. And he took the form of a Human namely Jesus, so this is the only way to explain the Trinity. I know that in the Bible no were it mentions the Trinity, but to explain it, this must be the only answer, do you agree? God bless brother.

@@thetruth871 I don't know if I exactly agree with you, but I think I agree with a fair amount of what you said! I believe that Yahweh is one, but that Yahweh can "share His power/authority" by "dwelling in" the temple of our bodies, check out Numbers 11 for one such story. Jesus is the first who Yahweh fully in-dwelt, and Yahweh made Jesus King over all of creation, including us. We must have the "Spirit of Christ" in us to be raised from the dead ... I recently made a post about this topic, let me go find it and share it here, would love to hear your thoughts!!

@@thetruth871 Here's the post I made in a Christian group, based on some studies I'm doing for a theology talk: 2 Corinthians 6:16 (NASB95) Or what agreement has the temple of God with idols? For we are the temple of the living God; just as God said, “I WILL DWELL IN THEM AND WALK AMONG THEM; AND I WILL BE THEIR GOD, AND THEY SHALL BE MY PEOPLE. God is going to dwell in us! Or does He dwell in us already? I personally think that the figure the Bible uses is that Christ dwells in us now, and in the next age God will dwell in us fully, here's a few passages to support: 1 Corinthians 15:28 (NASB95) When all things are subjected to Him, then the Son Himself also will be subjected to the One who subjected all things to Him, so that God may be all in all. We all must be subjected to Jesus first ... SO THAT God can in "all IN all" once Jesus hands it all back to God! Romans 8:11 (NASB95) But if the Spirit of Him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, He who raised Christ Jesus from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through His Spirit who dwells in you. This passage lets us know that it's all the same Spirit, it's not like Jesus has his own perosnal Spirit, rather he is filled with the fullness of God's Spirit! John Thomas' view in Phanerosis was that ALL power/Spirit comes from the ONE source, Yahweh, and that Jesus is the first human to be fully in-dwelt by this Spirit! I think you have to read Romans 8 with 1 Cor 15 in mind or it can be a little confusing; Yahweh has given Jesus power and authority over creation for now, so I think this includes the Spirit dwelling in us, our connection to God. It's still God's Spirit, but Jesus has been made King. Colossians 2:9-10 (NASB95) 9 For in Him all the fullness of Deity dwells in bodily form, 10 and in Him you have been made complete (full), and He is the head over all rule and authority; This verse further supports that God's Spirit has fully in-dwelt Jesus' body (it's almost as if Jesus TOLD us that his body was a temple ...), and that in Jesus we will be made full (complete) too! It also reiterates that Jesus has been made our "head" or King. The letter to the Ephesians really lays out this whole process in a pretty easy to understand way: Ephesians 1:3 (NASB95) Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ, It was the God of Jesus and of us that is the source of this blessing ... Ephesians 1:20 (NASB95) which He brought about in Christ, when He raised Him from the dead and seated Him at His right hand in the heavenly places, The God of Jesus and of us raised Jesus from the dead and "seated him at His right hand" which means to make Jesus our King! Think like David was King on Yahweh's behalf, or Joseph was made Pharaoh's right-hand man ... Ephesians 1:22-23 (NASB95) 22 And He put all things in subjection under His feet, and gave Him as head over all things to the church, 23 which is His body, the fullness of Him who fills all in all. This passage repeats what we read in 1 Cor 15, but it relates it to being "part of the body" as we call it, which means to be baptised into Jesus! This theme continues throughout Ephesians, but I think this is one really powerful statement: Ephesians 3: 14 For this reason I bow my knees before the Father ... 16 that He would grant you, according to the riches of His glory, to be strengthened with power through His Spirit in the inner man, 17 so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith; ... and to know the love of Christ which surpasses knowledge, that you may be filled up to all the fullness of God. I've heavily abridged this section of Ephesians just so I can show the parts that apply to my point, but go read the full thing for yourself! The important take-away is the WE will be filled with the "fullness" of God as well, just like Jesus! In order to be filled with the fullness of God, we must first have the Spirit of Christ, and be part of the "body of Christ" which is the set of people who have turned to Jesus!
