I especially like the SM wheel configuration with 17’s front and rear. This keeps the center of gravity low. With cross tires, you could take this puppy anywhere. Also fun at a track day. With 400cc’s, highway cruising is feasible.

You said 50 50 tire. I have a 2018 drz400sm model with the gold rims, I got the K60 scout rear tire and sheinko 705 front, the k60 is a 50 50 tire. My front tire is a 70 30 so more street but it's better than 70 30 front And rear. I got a good tire in the back to push me along offroad
@blixxy13203 жыл бұрын
The 450s have like 600 mile service intervals or less, and the drz has like a 4000 mile service interval and you can put like 40k on them without doing anything but basic maintance. The only supermoto that I know of that can beat that is the husky 701.
@UrbanMoto3 жыл бұрын
True story the DRZ is amazingly rugged compared to others! Check out the new Honda 450RL though! Super lightweight, fuel injected, road legal and much longer service intervals! Now that being said my DRZ isn’t going anywhere! 😎

I had a Husqvarna supermoto for a while, it let me down a few times and had me pushing it up the road sweating in my leathers. Found the problem with it but I just couldn't trust it after that. It was the only time I strayed away from Japanese bikes, won't do that again!
@UrbanMoto2 жыл бұрын
It really is hard to beat the reliability of Japanese bikes. What year was your Husky that you had the issues with?
@CRFLAus2 жыл бұрын
@@UrbanMoto It was a 2008 SM610. Great bike to ride. It had a hot start issue, so if I had to stop to get fuel the bike wouldn't start again until it cooled right down. Turned out to be a fuel pump issue that the mechanic had never come across before. He showed me the cost of some of those parts of the fuel system and they were scarily expensive!

It’s not to bad if you’re comfortable on a motorcycle. Just throw one leg down at lights / stop signs and you’re good to go! I’m 5’9 on a good day and got a seat concepts low seat that helped quite a bit. I wouldn’t change the suspension at all though! Thanks for watching!

@UrbanMoto3 жыл бұрын
@@chrssgro honestly it depends on how much you really want to put into it. If you're doing a carb replacement I would probably "personally" steer towards Lectron. However I have only done the JD jetting kit and 3x3 mod (along with Yoshimura RS2) and the bike feels great. You may want to save some money on the carb upgrade (depending on where you live and how cold your climate is)

Thank you for the nice comment! Actually yea it was a cheapy tidy tail and the blinkers were eBay specials haha! If I had to do it again though (which I’m sure I will soon) I would go TST industries!
