I have been running 6.7 fords since they came out. In Canada with rough roads, shit diesel (with additive added), heavier loads than your non CDL loads. No trans problems, nobody flashing me with their high beams because I use air bags and know how to balance a load. No cp4 problems to speak of yet but I do worry about them. Buying a new gm or ram gets you a cp4 as well. Oil changed every 8000km (5000 miles) and fuel filters every second oil change. Zero issues with my fords. I had a 2020 ram 5500 as a rental last summer and my employees and myself all hated the seats, and even with the aisin Trans it still did the famous shifting up and down like crazy on hills and flaring between gears like the pos dodge trans always has. Best chance with a dodge is getting a 6 speed manual with a cp3 which is no longer an option so it's a no brainer we will stay ford until there is something better. Btw dude less blow before these uneducated speeches would make you seem alot less sketchy and more reliable to listen too for a review. Please do an honest comparison of cost between a three fords you have had compared to one of the two dodges you have owned.
@Prestiged_peck3 жыл бұрын
I betcha part of the problem with his transmissions is lack of maintenance, when you're towing heavy you've gotta keep up with that trans maintenance or you're going to hurt it, the dodges are already used to shitty transmissions and it makes that Aisin look awesome. We've had tons of issues with a 15 denali 2500's allison ourselves, got the truck from an old lady that never towed with 63k, trans went at 70. We put a new one in and are only at 90k and this one's already going, we're gonna trade it off for an f350 gasser because we don't tow heavy often enough to need the diesel, and the maintenance on it is getting way too expensive for how little we use it, and those new CP4 trucks are just scary.

You said the fuel in the US is bad. That is true. But, I have been telling you for a long time to stop buying fuel at the truck stops. Get it at the larger 7-11's or where ever. Truck stop diesel is 20 % bio and the small stations are 10 % bio. Big difference there and helps on MPG and pump price. If your truck is squatting that much in the rear that it is causing a problem with the head lights, either your springs are bad or your load is not balanced. You are tagged at 26,000 and I am tagged at 39,999 and I never have a problem with my headlights bothering anybody on with my F350.

I am currently trading up to a 450 cause around 40k gross the f350 doesn’t like it. Plenty of power just doesn’t stop very well and doesn’t tow the best. I can't speak to Ford's CP4 fuel pump directly since I own an Chevy Duramax. But mine is the LML Duramax with the CP4 pump and they are known for going out and taking the whole fuel injection system with it. The fix is to run a lift pump. Apparently, CP4 pumps are sensitive to air in the fuel over time causing them to wear out. And the lift pump resolves that issue by maintaining a steady flow of fuel. My 2011 has 229,000 miles, and a lift pump, and is still going strong.

I love your videos! But I’ve gotta say your main problem is it’s a lease so you can’t do the simple things to fix some of these issues. For the headlights I spent $150 and replaced them with LED’s PROPERLY MADE LED’s. And now I never get flashed. Also these trucks need airbags with the kind of weight we haul. I have bags in mine and can adjust them on the fly, my headlights always shine onto the road. I also think your using the exhaust break wrong or not using it at all because it DOES have one. You could also be creating the hills to fast and that sets you up for excessive speed down the hills. I cross the Rockies regularly on all of the major interstates and never have a problem holding speed. As I crest a hill I engage AUTO Exhaust Brake and my speed never climbs above 1 or 2 MPH from that point on.
@burtbarrow9302 жыл бұрын
Your comments on the exhaust brakes are spot on. I routinely pull 24000 pounds with zero issues. What manufacture allows for load squat for the lights? NONE!! So your airbag comment is once again spot on! The seats could be better but I’ve made a living sitting in a seat and they all get uncomfortable after awhile, especially when we get older. The tranny does shift a bit to firm for my liking. Zero fuel issues so far, not saying there couldn’t be. But he lost me with the light rant and pretty much concedes he’s an idiot!

I had a 1990 7.3L 4 wheel drive..a great truck but when they wouldn’t honor a paint recall for the hood because the dealer didn’t tell me it was a dealer only recall notice, that was the last Ford I bought..just not happy about needing to pay $500 to have the hood repainted because they had used a primer that failed.

How have you gone through 3 Transmissions almost I have a 2020 450 and I have almost 150K on it with the original Transmission and I tpw a 50 foot deck trailer with a mini ex two skids and 3 attachments still on the same Transmission

You have to drive that transmission like a manual when slowing down. Got to keep the rpm up for the brake to work.

@edwardbandrews3 жыл бұрын
If your transmission is failing your not checking the color of your transmission oil on your pretrip. Most transmission oils start changing color meaning the oil starting to fail around 20k miles when using the truck commercially. Change the oil more often its that simple.

Transmission fluid is not covered under enterprise maintenance schedule. The owners I’ve talked to about their transmissions did do fluid changes
@sukmidri3 жыл бұрын
If you have to change the tranny fluid every 20k or less I'd junk it.
@grc56183 жыл бұрын
It's a "sealed" transmission. There is no dipstick to pull. Plus Ford has a 150K service interval on the 10 speed. That's why Enterprise isn't changing the oil, because Ford is telling them not too. To check the fluid, you have to crawl under the truck and use a wrench to pull off the fill port. It's on the TOP-right side of the tranny. Inside the fill port cap, is a mini dipstick that's about 3 or 4 inches long. That's the only way to check the fluid. This transmission doesn't even have a drain plug! You have to pull the pan (which is made of plastic) to drain the fluid. It's idiotic what Ford and GM are doing with their transmissions.

Sorry about your problems with the GREATEST TRUCK MADE. I have never owner a ford. I started buying a ram since 96',that had a 318 with a 5sp, no problems. Traded in for my 1st diesel in 99' with a 6sp. I plowed with that truck every year and put on 358,000 miles on it. My wife had a 01' diesel 5sp no problems. Traded for a 03 ram dually diesel ,no problems. Got a 13' dually and put 234,000 on that ,no problems. My last ram is a 5500 and still no problem. Maybe it's just the FORD THING. GOOD LUCK

Curious....did they replace with another 10 speed? Seems to me it might make more sense to throw in a six speed. Or maybe they are saying it was just a defective unit and that they new one will last? Did they give a reason as to why the trans failed?

We need to look at what the manufacturer’s are really building these trucks for. Is it Hotshot or the local contractors towing their equipment around their community. But also Including the ranchers and camper folks. Big difference in pounding out 800 miles a day after day. Verses a week. Nobody builds a perfect vehicle that’s why they all have service bays.

Great video Alex! Something else needs to be said here considering the times we live in for some reason people that are loyal Ford truck buyers feel the need to lie about the repairs, I have friends who own these trucks and they recommended them to other friends knowing they were lying when they said I’ve had no problems and they thought they were extremely reliable trucks after having transmission issues and fuel pump issues and other issues with the truck, Multiple times I’m 52 years old I’ve seen Ford build 2 other garbage power stroke engines which were lucky to break 100,000 miles before DEAD engines back in 2012 through 14 we’re garbage as well you couldn’t use one part from that engine internals to rebuild it I don’t know why people that drive Ford have the need to be liars but never trust anyone who recommends Ford, I realize dodge trucks have flaws as well but they’re not even close to the same cost for those flaws and most of them won’t put you out of business for two weeks while it’s being repaired however I do know many people on 3500s or half tons three-quarter tons. And all of them have all these RAM trucks for years and years with no problems and very few problems and they aren't liars that Ford owners are, stay away from Frauds it will bite you with every single truck made! And that fall will cost you $10,000 at some point! or what I call PANIC Mode !

My 2014 ram 6.4 hemi was $40,000 out of pocket in repairs in 3 years. I was always loyal to ram until then. I have a 2018 F350 and not 1 problem in 150,000 miles. Honestly i dont even think its people lying, i think it has alot to do with luck. Seriously I would never lie about a product, I dont own stock in ford, Im just saying what happend to me and my life experince.

Ram got smart and ditched the CP4 for 2021 and went back to the CP3 with larger lines and injectors, which helped with fuel delivery and power increases. 2020-current Fords are not going to age well on the secondhand market due to the 10spd trans issues and CP4. Around 50-60k miles, major problems start to pop up. #cumminslife
