5 Reasons I Won't Scape In The Summer

I've realized that I really don't scape in the summer and there are actually a number of reasons why. It's funny but I've also realized I've subconsciously felt guilty about it too...until now. Are you the same, or no?

As a high-schooler, I love scaping in the summer time! I have a whole new inspiration for my fish in the summer and I start getting good lawn mowing money. My problem with lawn mowing money is I spend it out of inpulse with my fish tank! Anyways, great video!

I live in Florida. I grow crypts and swords outdoors all year. I scape whenever I feel the itch. Great vids!

Summer is always busy doing stuff. Best to do in the winter months when it is not hectic working around the house. I like your reasons.

I’ve never really thought about it. Usually summer is for tubbing so I don’t do much inside. I am outside a lot more.

Hi! I’m the same. Outside most of the summer. 😃🌺☀️ I will make small adjustments if I happen upon a new plant, but in general I’ll keep things as is if everything is going well.

Spring, fall & early summer are when I'm busiest outdoors with planting & harvesting. The middle of summer is between 105-115 degrees outside, full sun & 100% humidity. That's perfect indoor time to mess with my scapes. ^^

I aquascape my home tanks during the Jan-Feb timeframe. My office tank is usually in July because it’s slow. Less people around and less work to do. I’ll be swapping out the 10g shallow with a similar paludaium.

I do some scaping in the summer, but spend as much time outside as possible 😁 I love that all of my tanks are established and don't need to be fiddled with too much anymore, unless I want to for some reason or another.

As a teacher summer is my favorite time to spend days at the LFS and rescaping all my tanks haha

Way-to-go on self awareness🙌 It's a great way to take back the control in our lives. The summer naturally brings aspects of our hobby alive, so I use that time to manage my plants & outdoor tubs. That's where I usually send all my live bearers and bettas to breed and eat the pests grown over winter. It's I way I can appreciate my mother nature for the free light, warmth, and extra life she gives during this time 😆💚🌲🌴🐟🐠

I'm kinda the same. Although I love some of the channels of the guys who are always redoing their tanks (MD Fish Tanks, MJ Aquqscaping, etc), I have 5 set up and haven't done anything major in a long time. I am planning on moving (hopefully this summer) so I will have a chance to redo them.

I wouldn’t call it scaping, but I end up doing a lot more maintenance, adjustments, alterations, and cleaning of tanks in the summer - For better or worse, I have very few areas of my house that don’t get a lot of natural sunlight, so my tanks get way too much in the summer and I find myself having to spend much more time in my aquariums making adjustments for algae control. I’m doing my first 10 gallon tank with the help of my more experienced fish keeping husband. What do you think about a small school of little tetras or rasboras, a few Pygmy corydoras, and a handful of cherry shrimp?

I am oppposite only bc i live in nw indiana and i order all of my fish since we have very few good fish stores within a reasonable driving distance. I order hard scape in the winter but i have to do the majority of my pond and tank set ups in the spring and summer bc most ppl will not ship to me after september bc of cold temps.
