Sorry to shit on your parade but it's also age when prostate happens, your joints irreparably wear out, pain management becomes major part of your life, your employability goes down, and people avoid looking at you because you are walking reminder of ageing and mortality.

I’m 38 as of March and I appreciate smaller things now . I really crave the sun light more than ever I just wanna be outside in the sun and I wanna feel things to remind me I’m alive . I really like being good to my wife a lot more now . She’s Been good to me for years never done me wrong and I cherish her and appreciate her . I really don’t care about more than just my marriage and my spiritual life . I don’t watch the news anymore .

When you hit 40 your social circle shrinks so less drama and the confidence level goes up for sure. No one knows everything however you have the confidence to figure it out and ask questions if needed.

Turned 40 yesterday and have had panic attacks throughout. I just don't feel 40 in terms of where my life is at, a few years from buying my first property, not got kids yet but want them in the next few years, want to travel and have fun still. It feels as if I'm 27/28 more than 40. I then feel sick that my dad passed a few years ago and my mother is nearly 70. It's like the last 20 years snuck up on me and I can't handle it or apply rationale to it. I think If I was more settled I'd barely even have noticed.

I turned 40 last month and I have only one regret: not maximizing my time at college when I was younger in my first attempt. I was able to immigrate to North America in 2012 and attended college when I was 29 again and I lived a second “youth-wind” and in the process I had to make younger friends because it was all that was available to me. I would often feel bad because many friends back home were getting married, kids, etc. And I was a first year in college, again. But I aced school, fell in love with the country and city I lived in. Fast forward 10 years and in June of 2022 I broke into the 5%-10% earners. I just finished a leg-sleeve tattoo, wear shorts most days, go to music festivals, have a hat collection, dress trendy, I have no vices, love my PS5 but most importantly, I have a girlfriend and a dog and we’re thinking of starting a family. Life’s been awesome.

I turn 40 in Sept 2022.. I have managed to do away with 1 or 2 self destructive habits but I still have a long way to go.. I have an almost 17 year old son that I love mainly out of obligation because his birth wasn't a mutual agreement.. Just keeping it 💯.. I have never been married nor been in a real relationship.. I am currently going through a little bit of a mid-life crisis because I don't dress my age and I fortunately never had Dad bod.. I have an imperfect right knee that likely resulted from back pain (sciatica).. I always lacked assertiveness and in many cases allowed myself to be pushed over and taken advantage of.. I procrastinated on training in martial arts and now I have a right knee that has made that almost impossible.. I have accepted a life of solitude because I'm extremely sensitive and don't trust myself to lead a family.. You have to start developing yourself as early in life as possible for your life to be easier at 40.. One thing is true though: at this age you definitely know who you are! Peace and love!

@@DearMoonProject I love him just as much as I love my parents and siblings.. We like to romanticize and categorize intangibles: true love etc.. My relationship with him is far from estranged and I am the first person he confides in and the ONLY one he shares his darkest concerns with.. I highly doubt that type of bond is common.. Yes I stated that my love for him is out of obligation because I had NO CHOICE but to love him whether I was prepared for it or not.. He is my flesh and blood and I couldn't leave him out there in the world like that.. I turned 40 five days ago BTW and I can feel the difference in my aura a bit.. So far so good..

im 42, no kids, never married, hate my career, drink daily, cant afford rent, will never be able to afford a house, considering changing careers & starting at the very bottom again. btw, i make a decent living, but 1 bedroom apartments where i live in california are $2500. while it seems most people over 40 are happier now than they have ever been, i would do anything to be in my 20s again. life used to be good & have purpose.

Stay positive. Age is just a number and you’re not old and it’s never too late. Sit down and right down 3 things that you want to prioritise on your life and set goals on how to achieve them. It might even be a good idea to go on a 3 month holiday somewhere and then come back fresh before you put your head down to achieve the goals you set. Remember, it’s never too late or too difficult, if you believe in what you’re doing. Start today.

I'm 41 and my life is way better than when I was in my 20's you are right about that...I actually have money now and me and my wife just have fun and do our thing and everything isn't a huge mess like when I was in my 20's....we don't have kids though and I know that probably makes a difference. I'm in pretty good health because every since 1996 when I was a junior in high school I have consistently hiked, weight lifted and I take long bike rides..I have never smoked, drank or done drugs which is really rare for people that were in high school in the 90's...they were a pretty wild ass group of kids trust me! But anyways yeah being 40 something is awesome as long as you didn't party too much and wreck your health and lastly being "depressed or bored" is not something I allow in my life....it's just counter productive and doesn't help you one bit.....

Can agree on all points, except financial - which can throw all the benefits on their head. In my case I owned a few properties debt free before 40.. after 40 and my entire salary is going to mortgages, no savings, and age in the tech industry counts against me. (No longer own any properties)
