Rad reg here - definitely agree with you. Esp the hard exam (and the high level of knowledge required in each subspeciality of medicine) and also the cognitive overload/stress especially on call (i'd feel much more tired after an 8 hour radiology shift vs a 12 hour ED/Surgical shift due to constant cognitive engagement).

If you understand anatomy, then learning the imaging anatomy side is very intuitive. It gets easier the more images you look at
