I believe him about on that cab experience. My first solo trip to Cartagena was in March 2023 and I caught a cab from in front of my 5 star hotel. I told the driver to take me to the wall city and as was driving he started insisting on a strip club I should go that has all these beautiful women. I told him nah I’m good but this dude still driving and insisting how much fun I would have. Now, I’m not a little dude I’m 6ft tall with solid muscle and I don’t look soft in no way. Dudes in the states don’t even play with me like that so it’s not like he looked at me like I was some sucka. I continue to tell him nah papi I’m good just take me to wall city. This guy kept driving through hoods and dangerous areas. Im from the hood so I know when I’m in a dangerous area. Dudes riding up besides us on scooters and I’m thinking I don’t have a blicky with me it could get rough for me. He pulls up in front of a strip club with about 15 dudes in front and this was the hood hood. I told him aggressively I said take me to the wall city and he saw that I wasn’t playing. He drove me to the wall city. I’m not going to lie I was shook cause I had no weapon and there was dudes every where in these neighborhoods we were driving through. It had to be around 11pm. I never took another cab after that. I went back in June 2023 and only took Ubers from my hotel. Be safe fellas

When I first learned about y'all hitting Columbia I was perplexed AF! Columbia was bad, violence was out of control in the 80's, 90's and 2000's. Back when I was Military, they were like HELL No to travel there. My manz travelled there a bit back but went to run a training for the State Department and CIA. He shared the travel advisement and the warnings with me, they started at the airport. The advisory warned against cab rides, said to keep windows rolled up and extended into the Cities. Ace Live almost had me ready to travel, but then I started seeing vids of Kay's being drugged and robbed. No bueno. I do Mexico, been to Cuba, got Costa Rica and Guatemala in the Chamber. Gonna do DR this Summer. Gotta stay safe cuz the game needs you! Stay Alert, Stay Alive and see the rest of the world. Every city got a red light district 😊.

I have a HUGE question for everyone. But 1st, let me explain a few things. I have lived in Medellin(pronounced Metagene) for the last 5 years(2019). My wife is Colombian. Since july 2021 I have deejayed around Medellin, Cali, and even Cartagena about 140 times. I have been all over Medellin and don't live in the tourist area of El Poblado. I even go out through the city plenty of times solo. I have many Colombian acquaintances, and have also supported local artists and businesses. I haven't been caught up in dangerous situations, and my Spanish is ok. Not fluent, but understandable. Within Colombia, I have been to Medellin, Cali, Cartagena, Bogota, San Andres, Periera, Monteria, Barranquilla, and Guatape. And I am not always with my wife. THE QUESTION: What am I doing that is preventing me from knowing anyone drugged, killed, scamned by women, or having those things happen to me?

At the same time if you're introverted and low key and don't mind just doing p4p Medellin is awesome, the guys who get caught up are the guys trying to date and fall in love. You literally never have to bring a girl back to your place in Medellin because there are brothels, strip clubs and indie girls everywhere and nobody getting drugged seeking professionals in these settings. If you want a domesticated woman in a low cost of living country go to Asia.

And be sure they can get back to the USA or wherever they want to live in case civil unrest or world war events. Supply chain shortages or stoppages hit all this passport get gone stuff. That lupi guy was making the same mistake every other foreigner that travel to Colombia makes. First of all…. He has to understand stand that tipping equates to flashing, tipping equates to flashing, TIPPING EQUATES TO FLASHING. Got to say it 3 times like Umar Johnson. When you tip, especially overtipping it’s like you are flashing your money. You are letting them know that you are showing your hands. Colombia is a rich and prosperous country with a lot of economic potential. But around 80 percent of its people are poor. And you tipping is like feeding cats. They will come around you forever and take advantage of your generousity until you can’t do it no more. Then they will show there true colors. Moving around in Medellin or Cartagena is not normal. It is not normal to normalize paranoia. People in those cities live in desperation, paranoia, and fear. And it’s NOT normal. That gentleman wouldn’t see that because it’s his first time visiting Colombia and maybe his first time outside the U.S. lot of foreigners make the mistake of LOOKING AT SITUATIONS THROUGH THE PRIVILEGE OF THERE CURRENCY . Not looking at things through the lenses of a local . But once you start to live there instead of visiting, that’s when reality settles in.

Colombia is a beautiful place. Alot of good people in Colombia and yes, it can also be dangerous. If you don't speak Spanish or have someone with who does, you shouldn't be in Colombia. No dar papaya, dont flash your wealth. I'm married to a Colombian woman, been to Colombia many times, and traveled half the country via bus for months. Lived in apartments for 6 months at a time. Have been with my wife over 5 years, never had a problem, only great experiences. It really does matter how you move and communicate and who you surround yourself with. It's one of my favorite countries in the world, a magical place, but you have to understand the language and culture, it's very different. And, date in your age range for the love of God.
