One does not have to agree with someone on everything to gain some enlightenment. 1) Varg is better than anyone at explaining the lost connection with the European religion that existed prior to the fabrication of Christianity 2) Varg bring a sense of pre dark age European history that is absent from our education 3) Van Gogh was "crazy" too, average people depend on those that see things from a divergent perspective in order to move their thinking outside of their own experience 4) It might not be as bad as Varg illiterates, but European culture is currently being placed under stress, raising awareness before it is diluted is a valid pursuit

Holy crap man good comment. Like way to highlight some missed points. There's always these pros and cons. I agree most with the crazy view, usually those who think abstractly, create brilliantly. Thus being crazy or fringe is okay. It's hard to have these views outweigh the negatives tho. As is always the case, often twice or more positives are needed to equal one percieved negative. I will maybe continue exploring Burzum, while still being wary. As one mans harsh negatives can build up the negatives of others. I will avoid the fanbase tho, I'm afraid not everyone is as thorough in their thoughts as you are.

The classic Burzum albums were epic! They each took a part in forming the basis for black metal. Burzum was a one-man metal project with Varg as the sole musician. He probably invented the term. I am not really sure. Many black metal musicians took after his approach. Plus, he was a real musician who did not have a lot available resources to make and produce music. For that, Varg is a genius!

I think the church burning phase was (not sure at the time) more of spectacular way to reclaim the old pagan faith of the north. Might sound strange to US people, but in Europe people are much more critical of religion. I absolutely do not approve of burning anything though. I like him how I like Celine : right wing pos, but awesome artist.

There is a lot of misinformation here... I mean, "stock piling"? They (he and his wife) were arrested on trumped up charges because she bought 4 guns (legally)... I hardly call that stock piling... And since his conviction in 2014, the French authorities watch him like a hawk, so I doubt he is (or has the ability to) "planning" anything! Also, the church burnings... that whole thing didn't even start in Norway and he had very little to do with it (other than going on record in support of it). And, he is not a white supremacist, if you actually read anything he has written, he is for traditional European values (when I say traditional, I am talking about OLD, pagan influenced values)... And you keep saying "Burzum, and Varg in particular"... no distinction. There has never been another member of "the band"... Varg IS Burzum! And, he is not Varg anymore. He took his wife's name and is legally known as Louis Cachet now.
