5 Reasons to Buy a Used Canon T2i

I'm still using my used T2i I bought in 2013 today, and it still surprises me how great the quality is. I would recommend that beginner filmmakers buy a T2i to learn the ropes of DSLR filmmaker, and because it simply is a great camera. Over the years using it the quality has gotten *better* because my skill improved, the point being your skills are what determine how good the footage is, so buying a $1000 camera right off the bat is a terrible idea because you probably won't be good enough to subsidize the specs until you've gotten a few years under your belt. And the T2i is such a good camera, that you probably won't be good enough to get maximum quality out of it immediately as you use it, even though it's only $200 nowadays! - Daniel

I have a t2i and it is a phenomenal camera. But I will honestly say smartphones have come a long way. The iPhone X is my field assistant to my dslr and it is phenomenal. I use an app call pro cam 5 on the phone and I get raw shots so this helps when I can’t get that dslr for certain shots. And the 4K 60fps is something the t2i can not do. I have had my t2i for about 4-5 years and it is really a good camera.

29kalel I definitely know you mean. For me, the small sensor size is what keeps me away from phone cameras. With apps that disable sharpening and such though, the phone cameras can be great. Thanks for watching!

This video is already over a year old, but I have someone who wants to sell me their T2i with all kinds of lenses and such with it since he's moving to a different brand and will have not use for the canon products anymore. I've been dreaming of a dslr for so long, but it will be my first one and I wasn't sure what to do. I live in Asia and, contrary to what one might think, electronics here are actually more expensive than back in the states so I wasn't sure what to do, but I was also worried about the T2i being too outdated, but I think you've convinced me that I should definitely buy my friend's camera now :) Thanks!

I'm planning a short film for this summer. My hard disk camcorder is ok for some stuff, but it won't be able to give me that cinematic look I need. After looking around at the various options I'd pretty much decided to buy a 550d/ T2i. Sure, higher spec stuff has come since it was released, but it still seems like a solid option for filming nearly a decade after it was released & you can pick one up with extras for well under £200 now. Also the T2i was the last rebel that is compact, about 30% smaller than the t3i and the succeeding Txi's. They've just gotten bigger, weird that canon employed this strategy with the competition/mirrorless going smaller.

iAmKayana thank you! The microphone I use is the Blue Spark XLR microphone, connected to my Audient ID14 USB interface. I record in my closet which I've acoustically treated with acoustic foam. All and all, the set up costs about $600. Thanks for watching!

$200 will also get you a panasonic G6 nowadays, which blows the T2i to pieces. The T2i was a great introduction to shooting when I got it, but the G6 is different league imagewise.

Change the video size. If its for KZbin the aspect ratio should be 16:9.

What type of camera did you use to create this video on KZbin? I noticed the images taken of the Canon T2i bodya is very sharp compared to the sample videos taken by the T2i... I'm asking this question because I'm interested in the Canon T2i for video conferencing... I'm thinking about purchasing a Logitech c920 webcam or Canon T2i for video... Hi! The shots of the Canon T2i were taken with the original iPhone SE. the shots May technically appear sharper, but that’s because I always turned sharpening down on the t2i. The t2i is much better than the Logitech (I have them both). Thanks for watching!

This fact is nobody knows. several are thinking megapixels are the matter for videos. a simple math is full HD uses 1920 pixels Horizontally and 1080 pixels vertically. this is the maximum utilization as of sensor concerned. but the sensor gets illuminated if the glass is a good one or better one or best one. that is bigger aperture. so cameras, not a matter at all. Lenses and lightings and audio equipment are important than the camera body.

Eh. Gotta disagree. I shoot with a t2i (and have a fair few videos shot with it on my youtube channel), but having no autofocus in video makes it almost worthless if you ever intend to be infront of the camera.

I'm certainly not not mad at the decision 15 y/o me made when I bought it used for $400 in late 2012. But today I think for just a bit more I'd be tempted to buy an SL1 or the likes with AF in video. Until I graduate college it will still be my daily driver. Also, magic lantern helps these old cameras a bit if you haven't checked it out already.
