I grew up in New London, spent a few years in little old Salem, and then back to buy my first home on New London Shoreline near the Coast Guard Academy. Loved the weather, hot summers, very cold winters, gorgeous Fall weather. Colchester is also a hidden gem. I miss living there so much now that I've spend 2019 til the present in Southern Maryland. I wish I had done more research. The" beaches " here in southern Maryland are NOTHIING LIKE OCEAN BEACH...The car tax is obnoxious but other states have other more rotten car 'fees'.... Please just do your research ie, New London has a nursing home every 10 minutes in each direction... here there are just a few for miles and miles. If you are in health care, try to find out everything you possibly can before you move.

The car tax sucks, but the roads are great here, as opposed to NYC where the roads suck. I been here for 2 years and love it.

Roads are better- you can tell when you cross the border. For me, NYC is close enough to go back to for the things I miss on occasion.

Thanks for the information. Im looking into a 2/3 bedroom 2 full bath ranch home in a decent area with middle class black families in Connecticut later on as it's close to NYC by my friends and family. What areas do u suggest that's not too far from NYC?

Thank you for this information. I really appreciate it. Question... I am looking for a place in Connecticut that I can easily commute to Worcester, Boston, and New York City from. I would like at least 2 acres of land, and a fairly diverse area good for raising kids. Do you have any suggestions? And how are the property taxes generally in the state? Thank you again.
@relocatetoconnecticut2 жыл бұрын
Hi - if you email me at kthomas@williampitt.com , I can send you some suggestions which would meet your requirements: family friendly, two acres and diverse. The taxes actually vary greatly here. I immediately thought of at least five places which could be a great match.

Thinking of moving to bristol ct is in a good area that is more affordable?
@relocatetoconnecticut2 жыл бұрын
Hi so in the US the average cost of living is on an index of 100. CT itself is 106 which means living here is more expensive but Bristol itself is 104. In terms of housing the state of CT is 103 but housing is 85.

Hello I’m looking to buy and hold multi families I was told Waterbury and Bridgeport are good
@relocatetoconnecticut2 жыл бұрын
Hi The CT Rental market is very strong regardless of the market shift. In CT the majority of multi families are in the cities (ie Bridgeport, Danbury, Fairfield, Stamford, Waterbury etc). The exception being towns like Hamden which are next to a city but is also a suburb with young energy due to the six colleges nearby. I help my signed buyers by directing them to the available areas and then cross checking how many multi family owners are in pre foreclosure due to renters not paying on time.
@leahohlund6469 Жыл бұрын
Those cities are HIGH crime. Waterbury has super high taxes for home owners
@relocatetoconnecticut Жыл бұрын
@@leahohlund6469 The question was where are the multi family homes - the majority of multi family homes in this state ARE in those areas .... when someone becomes a client, I do go into depth about the areas specifically for investment options

The only pros about living in connecticut it that the cops are lenient especially our state troopers All are parks are closed during the holidays because of overcrowding . Let's just say people are not the friendliest that is for sure . connecticut is overrated
