Loved this video, Rana! I agree with all of your points. I can’t be a multi planner girl either. Something critical is that I’d lose information between my planners. Sometimes I’d be at work and I’d need to reference something, but it wouldn’t be in the planner I brought

My A5 stays at home and that's what I do my main planning in - projects, lists etc. I carry a pocket diary with me similar to a Hobonichi weeks which is all I need 'on the go' and it takes 5 minutes just to match the two up on a daily basis. This has worked for me for a while. I keep it simple - no stickers, no washi, just the occasional highlighter. Love your videos! X

I use 1 planner for every thing. Don't have time to juggling multiple planners. Monthly I use for work schedule, payday, appointments. Weekly I put everything else. Notes I put add'l details for work mostly. It's the flexible section to extend Weekly/monthly sections. I insert 1/2 page with monthly bills to be moved each month. Rest of budgeting goes in back of planner. I do carry my Classic size Franklin covey with me.

I move around a lot. Different monthly’s I use for different things... Meal planning, gratitude, etc. I do keep a control planner for bills, paychecks, appointments, holidays: basically anything that would be transferred when I change things. This allows me to change my other aspects of my life on a whim but still have those important things in one central location.

Great point! I’m a new planner babe. I’ve often thought that I would only keep one planner until I thought about having a separate financial, wellness, and spiritual planner. However, in any of those instances, I would not need to keep a separate calendar. I can see how that could be overwhelming. My spiritual planner alone will be far too in-depth to keep in a tiny section of my planner so I will be maintaining more than one planner but not for EDC.

@@kreeativeme I totally understand. I tried to carry around an A5, but it sometimes could not fit in my handbag... I bought a personal, but I was not able to fit all my different categories in it (I'm afull time assistant, part time English Professor, freelance translator, wife and woman trying to lose weight), besides not having enough space to write. The other thing is, I'm still not sure I want to carry my detailed finances with me everywhere... I need to continue brainstorming...

I agree that inserts are a little costly and who has the time to double plan. My daily routine having a huge chunk dedicated to “work” doesn’t allow the extra time to decorate or make it look pretty at all...so I come online during a Saturday while folding laundry 🧺 to view those who do. In the end, it’s a win win.

You have explained everything very well, Rana, because it's very true for me. I have attempted multiple times to use more than one planner, but after a week or so, I'll just abandon the 2nd planner in the end. 😅 It's because I feel overwhelmed trying to keep up with both planners. I already knew I'm a one planner girl, but sometimes I get tempted to try multiple planners 🙈. But it's okay. After multiple attempts, I'm very sure now that I am still a one planner girl. So, I only change the planner cover from time to time to give all the covers I have the chance to be utilized. Thank you for sharing your thoughts on this, Rana! Amazing video as always 💖😍

I've recently returned to paper planners but I'm still working out my system. I plan to have a work planner (A5 - hononichi + 20 ring Japan notebook in an LV desk agenda) and a personal goals planner that I will leave at home (Filofax pocket with a variety of inserts from various makers or designed by myself). I will mainly use the work planner for high level year, day and week work planning (major deadlines, appointments, events) but I also keep personal appointments on the same calendar (maintaining two separate calendars is asking for trouble). I am a CFO so I have a lot of meetings, presentations, projects etc. However, I also use an electronic calendar and the Things app for the actual tasks lists (organized by areas, contexts and projects). For the personal planner - it will be my goals and progress for wellness, creativity and finance but I will carry daily trackers etc in my work planner (like habit trackers, spending logs)as that is my EDC. But my overall progress tracking, assessment and goals will be in the personal planner. Also my personal planner will have a calendar, not for appointments but for tasks lists for weekly financial check ins and housework, etc. The idea is I will get home and then open up my personal planner, check my tasks lists, routines and goals. Like Mr. Rogers but with a planner instead of shoes and a sweater! I can also then move completed trackers and logs from the EDC periodically to the personal to update my progress toward my goals. I also use Evernote for docs, GoodNotes for taking notes and we have a project software at work that we use with our teams. Whew, it's a lot and I'm still brainstorming and documenting how everything will work together but I think it will be worth it. There is something that cements my goals and obligations in my brain when I put pen to paper but I've got way too much to be just paper. I tried doing a planner like pdf in GoodNotes but I find I need the physical object of a planner to trigger actually opening it and checking. All of the planning videos help on youtube to some extent and I'm not gonna lie, some of it is just entertaining and aesthetically pleasing.

Hi Rana. Thanks for sharing. I have been using an ECLP for 3 yrs and that has worked for me but have found that because my planner is so big, I can't make it an "on the go" planner and still have to use a separate calendar to carry with me so I dont overlap appointments. I've been debating about switching to rings in the A5 size as my catch all and possibly getting a personal rings to carry with me, but keeping it simple with a monthly section and using it more as a wallet. Not sure how that's going to work.

What works for me is I have a personal sized planner that stays home. I don't like carrying it everywhere because its heavy and chunky, but all my planning lives in that. I carry a slim planner that takes the exact same sized inserts. I take only the inserts I need with me when I go out. It also has blank paper to jot notes on. When I get home I don't have to write things out again. I just put it back in my personal. It works for me because its a habit. I don't even have to think about it.
