I’ve lived in south Louisiana my whole life but Lafayette has more racial inclusion in the core culture that anywhere I’ve seen. My first music festival in Lafayette I saw old and young, white and black, and gay and straight people all dancing together to the same song. I was in awe. I felt like I I finally found home.

I have to disagree. The culture is so rich, I’m proud of my heritage. I have friends all over the US and I’m always shocked at how intense their encounters are. I’m not used to people being rude, the lack of respect and how they don’t interact with others, other than screaming.
