Steamdeck is better. Better button positions, it has track pads. Why would you not include track pads?! It's a computer! Also, Linux is based. Screw windows. Steamdeck is cheaper and battery life is better. The ally has similar battery life but it sucks more juice because it's a more powerful computer. windows is a double edges sword becase even though windows gives more freedom and compatibility with games it sucks for ease of use....though for me personally i would prefer windows for the game compatbity because i prefer to set my settings prefrences once and not touch them until nececary.....also i usually carry kbm for my laptop i can use them on this if necesarry(though this defeats the purpose of handheld console).... it can even replace my laptop for decently demanding work anyway so i would carry a kbm anyway as i also play with kbm sometimes

Heat, power consumption, fan noise. And yes SD can run windows 10/11 on it. I have mine setup that way to play pc games not on steam. Competition is always good, but to say end all be all for a unit is stupid. Keep in mind if the price to performance is justified for the dollar difference, then you’re literally paying the price for the added performance. So in hind sight SD is still relevant.

@@mattcurcic5585 yes it is, in a recent q&a they said it is perfectly fine to upgrade the SSD and it even won't brake your warranty if you do along as you have the original SSD so save the old SSD. i also saw reviewers with a preview model ubgrade the SSD to a 2 tb so its legit

I mean sure it is much better and much more powerful at a few hundred more, that said, windows 11 on mobile is still buggy as hell until they make a version for it. It works well enough but you'll run into problems that are annoying at worst but still made you wish was implemented better (which it likely will with updates long as Asus doesn't drop support which they sometimes do). SteamOS at the very least had time to mature before people finally started liking it and if I'm being honest, it only took me 15 minutes to get used to the linux interface and a simple KZbin search to see what i need to get to run the things i want. Basically, its your money so do what you want, if you wanna play top end AAA games and don't want to buy a 4090 to run them and plan to completely replace your pc for home and on the go, then the Rog Ally is for you. If you have 400$ and want something to play your steam games on the go with better low voltage options for games that don't need it, Or a mid level emulation device that can run games up to ps3, then there ya go.

People don’t talk about the fan noise enough. Had a steam deck and the fans were insanely loud all the time no matter what game I’d play where as the Ally can play nearly anything at 10w silent and at 15w it’s far quieter than the deck.
