You drove right by my house at just before the 9 minute mark. I thought for sure you’d mention that there’s only one way in and one way out once you get passed 120th. I agree about the restaurants in Bonney lake. There’s the normal chain places, Applebees, hops and drops. But not many unique dining places. George’s BLT has been a nice addition and crockets public house opened by the movie theater. Overall I love living in the Bonney lake area. For me it’s very centralized to where I travel to. Hopefully somebody decides to run with the golf course that cascadia intended on building 🤞🏽

My family & I have lived here since early 2019. There's a lot of valid points including how much the townies hate us, the lack of public transportation (even though we are forced to pay an annual RTA tax) & the amount of traffic. Our new 7-11 & Wendy's have been open for a while & thankfully the road construction is complete. Maybe do a follow up video in another year or two?

This place is like IKEA once you meander in : 1) you'll never find your destination. 2) you'll never find the exit. One single road in. One single road out....for hundreds of vehicles (population keeps growing as they mow down more forest to put up crap tract homes). Everything, down to the blue water "stream", is manufactured. Over-priced tract homes too close to each other. Nestled in a natural disaster zone - wildfires. Lahar zone.(remember the one way in/out part?) The strip of consumerism that is Bonney Lake/ HWY 410 is a traffic nightmare ( remember /Lahar/wildfire zone ,one way out evacuation?) The crazy HOA. I could go on. They currently have the fanciest 7-11 though...There is a reason locals refer to it as Tahellya.

There is now a Wendy's next to that 711. I don't know when I popped up because I'm always ubering over there and picking up everyone's booze from the 711 I just noticed the Wendy's today.

I live close by, on the way to Tehaleh and #1,2,3, and 5 apply to us as well. As for #4, oh yeah, as Tehaleh grows it's making living in BL hell. Over crowding the schools, raising property prices, making driving around miserable. I used to go Tehaleh Days, but the treatment you'd get once you told someone you didn't live "in" the neighborhood was like a second class citizen. And don't forget the racism. My Asian friend had to move out of there it was so bad. White flight is real, they all moved to Tehaleh. But yeah, great coffee at the Post though.

@@ctran27shifty looks from others when walking, and once an outright racist comment from someone driving by. Exclusion and talk behind her back from other moms with young kids on their street. And they located once to a different house in Tehaleh and it was even worse in their nicer home.

I never knew tehaleh existed until today when I read about " an affordable housing fee". I Grew up in Seattle and Puyallup river valley, and try as the might, no one can ever convince me that Bonney Lake is nice 😂

Appreciate all your videos! My fiance and I visited Tehaleh and while we loved the neighborhood and homes, we realized that the distance from major cities and lack of amenities is just not a good fit for us. I do think the area is up and coming and these things might not be an issue in the future, but it is definitely a problem right now.

Why don't you move? Before moving here, didn't you scope out the area? You could've checked many of your gripes before moving here. Much of this county does not have public transportation. We've lived here 6 years. The biggest complaint I have is there is still only one way out of here in case of fire. When we moved here it was only a 2 lane very steep hill. Which you can still see on the side. We were told they were going to lower the hill...and they've been working on it all this time. Ridiculous. They also said a second road to Orting would be started within a year. More BS. We love how peaceful and relatively safe it is here. We don't expect it to be like living in Seattle or Tacoma with all the events and excitement. You're right in that there are many snooty people that live up here. So many people were bitching and moaning about a 7 Eleven and a Wendy's going in because it wasn't classy enough. Its good enough if you forget to buy milk though. Right? Another bad thing is the taxes. We pay about $7300 living in Trilogy and don"t have school kids but new areas need new schools and a fire station. In Trilogy we pay into more than one HOA equaling $343 a month or $4116 a year, so yes, the Mantel, pool, classes, pickle ball are paid for by us. The facility is no where large enough to accommodate all of Tehaleh. Last I heard, interested Tehaleh neighbors go through a waiting list and pay something like $50 a month. Not sure if that is against what food you buy. We used to live on South Hill and the traffic is horrible there too. Where isnt it? Buses aren't all that great any more either.

My biggest complaint to the city long before they started building and it has only gotten worse. Now everyone uses our main road in a different development to cut through never abiding by the speed limit. Complaints have fallen on deaf ears they just keep letting them build and doing nothing to the roads that they promised. I don’t blame the residents I blame the city and county

Hahaha thanks for the reminder of some of why we left. we lived there from 2020-2022, in southern Idaho now. Luckily, we were right off the first entrance, so it didn't take quite so long to get out of Tehaleh. The hill still sucked though. Look forward to seeing more of your videos 👍

I have lived in bonney Lake for 20 plus years and the whole development of tehaleh has basically ruined bonney Lake. I think all the reasons you listed are very legitimate, but also schools are so overcrowded. It's ridiculous. I blame poor city planning and greed for $ and property taxes! It's turning bonney Lake into South Hill.

Of course they are only expanding the community and it’s exhausting to the rest of us who live in Bonney Lake. There’s only one road in and out of Tehaleh and it gets backed up every day, and completely disrupts other traffic around that area.

He’s absolutely right about the tehaleh basically draining the cities resources and traffic and whatnot, to the point where the average person in bonney lake hates tehaleh, forgetting that the neighborhood is so expensive to live in anyway that the people there think so little of the “townies” (yes thats real, and theirs a good chunk of people who refer to tehaleh as “the hood” witch has always made me sick lmao) hated pretty much every waking second of being there except for the freinds i made who largley dont live there anymore either 😂

Not only am I a local, but I’ve lived in bonney lake since 1972 which is longer than 90% of the people here, and I’m sure longer than you. The locals don’t like tehaleh because all the houses are nicer than their own and they can’t afford to live there. It’s just jealousy. I wouldn’t want to live there but I don’t hate tehalla because I’m not a jealous idiot.

This is no where near Tacoma. No lie about everything you listed is why people do not like those that move to these "master plan communities". You move to the countryside then complain about everything country. Folks thinking about these communities just stay in the big cities. Everyone will be happier.

I keep telling people. If your moving to the area Tacoma is your best bet when you look at all aspects. More specifically downtown would be the top place to live especially if you are interested in renting. The burbs around Tacoma are just not setup to handle the load of people.
